1999 Plymouth Prowler For Sale The Prowler is one of the
very few factory hot rods to make it out of a design studio and
onto a showroom floor without being watered down along the way.
Plymouth built it with open front wheels, exposed front suspension
arms, cycle fenders, and an aluminum-intensive structure that keeps
curb weight under 3,000 pounds. This example is a one-owner car
finished in Prowler Yellow, the color most closely associated with
the 1999 model year, with 17,000 miles showing.Power comes from
Chrysler's 3.5L aluminum V6, revised for 1999 to a 253 horsepower
rating and a meaningful step up from the earlier version of the
engine. It pairs with a 4-speed AutoStick automatic mounted at the
rear of the car as a transaxle, an unusual layout for a production
roadster that shifts weight rearward and gives the Prowler its
balance and its torque-tube driveline. AutoStick allows clutchless
manual gear selection when the driver wants it and full automatic
operation when they do not.The chassis carries the same
purpose-built approach. Staggered wheel and tire sizing puts the
narrow rubber up front and the wide rubber at the rear, and braking
is handled by four-wheel discs. New tires have been fitted at all
four corners, and the brakes have been replaced front and rear, so
the two service items that most often come due on a low-mileage car
of this age have already been addressed. The black manual soft top
folds behind the seats and stows under a hard tonneau. Inside, the
cabin is a two-seat, body-integrated design with a factory 6-disc
CD changer. The car presents in excellent condition
throughout.Prowlers were built in small numbers over a short run
and were bought largely by people who understood what they were
buying, which is why so many survive with low mileage and clean
histories. A single-owner 17,000-mile car with fresh tires and
brakes is about as straightforward an entry point into the model as
the market offers, and it is a vehicle that draws a crowd anywhere
it stops.NFI Empire specializes in classic, exotic, modified, and
