MARKET PRICING ALERT - 6 & 7 SPEED CORVETTES
The 6-speed and 7-speed manual Corvette market has changed
dramatically. Since Chevrolet discontinued the manual transmission
with the introduction of the C8 Corvette in 2020, the supply of
clean, low-mile manual Corvettes has continued to dry up.
Today, only a small percentage of Corvettes offered for sale are
equipped with a 6-speed or 7-speed manual transmission, making
desirable manual cars increasingly difficult for us to acquire.
Because of this limited supply, comparable 6-speed and 7-speed
Corvettes are currently bringing approximately $3,000-$4,000 more
than comparable automatic Corvettes.
At Corvette Warehouse, we purchase Corvettes nationwide and see
this shortage firsthand. We are consistently having to invest
substantially more money to acquire quality manual-transmission
cars, especially desirable colors, low-mile examples, Grand Sports,
Z06s and well-optioned cars.
If you are shopping strictly by price, we generally have comparable
automatic Corvettes available for approximately $3,000-$4,000
less.
However, if you specifically want the experience and collectability
of a 6-speed or 7-speed manual Corvette, expect to pay a premium.
Chevrolet has eliminated the manual from the current Corvette, and
Chevrolet's Corvette engineering leadership has again confirmed
that there are no plans to bring a factory manual transmission back
to the C8.
The manual Corvette is becoming a limited-supply enthusiast
vehicle, and the market is pricing these cars accordingly.
