Celebrating 25 years of one of Pontiacs most legendary performance
cars, this 1994 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am 25th Anniversary Edition
combines unmistakable styling, limited-production collectibility,
and the performance of GM's LT1 V8. Finished in Bright White with
the distinctive blue center stripe and matching white interior, the
Anniversary Edition was designed as a modern tribute to the
original white-and-blue Trans Am that debuted in 1969.
Pontiac produced just 2,000 examples of the 25th Anniversary Trans
Am for 1994. The special appearance package immediately separated
these cars from a standard Trans Am with its Bright White exterior,
bold blue center stripe, unique 25th Anniversary graphics and
badging, and color-matched white 16-inch five-spoke aluminum
wheels. The combination remains one of the most recognizable Trans
Am designs of the fourth-generation era.
Under the hood is GMs legendary 5.7-liter LT1 V8, factory rated at
275 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque. This example is equipped
with the electronically controlled 4L60E four-speed automatic
overdrive transmission, sending power to the rear wheels. The LT1
brought serious performance to the Trans Am in the 1990s, combining
sequential-port fuel injection with the displacement and torque
expected from a traditional American V8.
The fourth-generation F-body chassis complemented the LT1 with
four-wheel disc brakes, power steering and a performance-oriented
suspension. With its low seating position, rear-wheel-drive layout
and strong V8 power, the Trans Am delivered the kind of
driver-focused experience that helped reestablish American
performance during the 1990s.
The Anniversary Edition treatment continues inside with a striking
white leather interior contrasted by the darker dashboard,
carpeting and center console. Special "25th Trans Am" embroidery
appears on the seatbacks, while white interior accents tie the
cabin directly to the exterior color scheme. The driver-oriented
cockpit features deeply contoured bucket seats, a leather-wrapped
steering wheel and a full complement of instrumentation.
Factory comfort and convenience equipment includes air
conditioning, power windows, power door locks, power mirrors,
cruise control, rear-window defroster and a factory audio system.
The combination of modern-for-the-era amenities and V8 performance
made the Trans Am a car that could comfortably cover highway miles
while still delivering the aggressive personality expected from
Pontiac's flagship performance model.
This example currently displays 72,482 miles and retains the
defining appearance that makes the 25th Anniversary model instantly
recognizable. The Bright White body, blue Anniversary graphics,
white wheels and white leather interior create a combination
available only as part of this commemorative edition.
More than three decades after its introduction, the 1994 25th
Anniversary Trans Am represents an important chapter in Pontiac
performance history. It combines the styling and heritage of the
original Trans Am with the fuel-injected LT1 performance of the
1990s, all wrapped in a limited-production Anniversary package.
For the collector looking for something more distinctive than a
standard fourth-generation F-body-or simply someone who remembers
when the LT1 Trans Am was one of the most exciting American
performance cars on the street-this 25th Anniversary Edition offers
an increasingly uncommon opportunity to own a genuine piece of
Pontiac history.
