409ci/400hp V-8 engine paired with a four-speed close-ratio
synchromesh manual transmission and a 3.36-ratio Positraction rear
axle. A total of 742 units of the 1965 Chevrolet Impala were built
with the 409-cubic-inch, 400-horsepower engine before production of
the W-series big-block ended early that year. Mechanical equipment
includes a GM factory scatter shield, heavy-duty clutch, special
front springs, temperature-controlled radiator fan, 55-amp
Delcotron generator, heavy-duty radiator and power steering. Vacuum
power brakes provide stopping power. Professionally frame-off
restored, it is finished in Regal Red with a white soft-top
featuring a glass rear window. Exterior equipment includes Soft Ray
