This 1965 Buick Riviera GS combines the unmistakable styling of
Buick's first-generation personal luxury coupe with a clean,
lowered stance and a strong list of desirable equipment. Finished
in white over a tan leather interior, the Riviera retains its
elegant mid-century character while the polished wheels and
adjustable air suspension give it a more aggressive presence.
Power comes from Buick's 425ci V8 paired with an automatic
transmission. Power steering and power brakes add to its
comfortable cruising manners, making this Riviera well suited for
relaxed drives and local shows. The car shows approximately 63,000
miles, which are said to be original.
Inside, the tan leather interior complements the white exterior
nicely and retains the Riviera's distinctive wraparound cockpit
design. Woodgrain trim, bucket seating, center console, and the
sweeping dashboard capture the upscale character that made the
Riviera one of Buick's most distinctive models of the era. An
aftermarket steering wheel has also been fitted.
One of the biggest upgrades is the full air-ride suspension system.
The setup features new dual compressors and a large air tank
mounted neatly in the trunk, allowing the Riviera to sit
exceptionally low when parked while retaining adjustable ride
height when needed.
Adding to its history, this Riviera spent its life in California
and Arizona until approximately six months ago and remained within
the same family for more than 30 years. The combination of
long-term ownership, Southwestern history, 425ci V8 power, and its
air-ride setup makes this 1965 Riviera GS a distinctive take on one
of Buick's most celebrated designs.
