1970 Dodge Charger Hellephant Restomod
This 1970 Dodge Charger combines one of the most iconic shapes of the muscle-car era with an extensively upgraded chassis, custom interior and a 1,000-horsepower supercharged Hellephant HEMI.
Built as a no-compromise restomod, the Charger retains the unmistakable presence of the 1970 model while incorporating modern performance hardware throughout. Under the hood is a 426-cubic-inch Mopar Hellephant supercharged HEMI V8, rated at approximately 1,000 horsepower, backed by a 727 Coan six-speed transmission.
Power is sent through an aluminum 4-inch driveshaft to a Dana 60 rear differential with 4.30 gearing.
The chassis was extensively upgraded to complement the powertrain. The front suspension utilizes a Reilly Motorsports AlterKtion tubular system, while the rear features a Reilly Motorsports Street-Lynx four-link setup with adjustable coilovers. The unibody has also been reinforced.
Stopping power is provided by Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes with a Wilwood master cylinder, Hydroboost assistance and Line-Lock.
The Charger rides on 17-inch Billet Specialties Street Lite wheels, fitted with Pirelli P Zero 240-series tires up front and 305-series Mickey Thompson slicks at the rear.
Exterior
The body is finished in House of Kolor Show Clear Black, giving the Charger a deep, high-gloss appearance that complements its aggressive stance. Exterior details include a prominent hood scoop, hood pins and subtle custom graphics.
A contrasting red roll cage is visible through the cabin and ties into the car's black-and-red theme.
Custom Interior
Inside, the Charger has been extensively customized while retaining elements of the original 1970 design.
The cabin features custom black upholstery with red stitching, racing-style front bucket seats embroidered with custom Charger graphics, red PRP multi-point harnesses, a matching rear seat and a custom center console.
Instrumentation has been upgraded with a full complement of aftermarket gauges, while the B&M QuickSilver shifter provides control of the transmission.
The interior also incorporates custom carpeting, dashboard treatment, door panels and trim.
Audio & Electronics
A custom audio system includes an HD900/5 five-channel 1,000-watt amplifier, three 10-inch JL Audio subwoofers, and a complete Kenwood Excelon system.
A custom multimedia display has also been integrated discreetly into the center console.
