This 1956 Ford Thunderbird is powered by a 292ci Y-block V-8 engine
with a four-barrel carburetor, paired with a three-speed
Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission that sends power to the rear
wheels. The replacement engine has been refurbished with new belts
and hoses, and additional new components include horns and neutral
safety switch. Braking is handled by manual brakes. Restored
factory-correct Colonial White and is fitted with a body-color
removable hardtop with portholes and a glass rear window. Exterior
equipment includes a Continental kit, removable rear fender skirts,
brightwork and wheels with Ford-branded chrome hubcaps and
thick-whitewall tires. The interior features a reupholstered
four-way power bench seat, replacement headliner, metallic trim,
power windows, power steering and a floor-mounted automatic
shifter. Instrumentation includes a 5,000-rpm tachometer, 150-mph
speedometer, analog clock, fuel and coolant temperature gauges and
auxiliary Stewart-Warner water-temperature and oil-pressure gauges.
The clock, coolant temperature gauge, Town & Country AM radio and
windshield wipers are inoperative. The heater/defroster controls
operate, but the defroster ducting is missing.
