DESCRIPTION:
From Rod Saboury’s Extreme Corvette Shop comes this beautiful 1958 Chevrolet Corvette Pro Street in Black Onyx with a Fawn Biege interior. This professionally built ’58 is powered by a 331 cu in Chevy V8 and backed by a Turbo 350 3-speed automatic transmission with a Fab 9” Ford rear differential. It has a complete tube chassis with rack & pinion steering and coil over shocks. It is a multiple show winner and draws attention everywhere it goes. The Corvette was built to be a reliable and fun car to drive. There is less than 500 miles on the drive line and 2500 miles since the car was first built. No disappointments. Please note this car was tagged in Pennsylvania and recently passed their annual state inspection.

The body is basically a stock 1958 Corvette, except the trunk ‘ribs’ have been removed. It retains the ‘washboard’ hood and all the factory exterior chrome, which is in excellent condition. It also appears to retain the original ‘bonding strips’. All the windows are in good condition, and the passenger and driver’s windows go up and down easily. All exterior running lights, such as headlights, turn signals, and brake lights function. Wipers work and are electric. The black 2-stage urethane paint was applied approximately 12+ years ago and does show some aging, with a few small cracks (please view all photos carefully).
The trunk houses a 16-gallon fuel cell with a Fram in-line fuel filter, electric pump, and battery.
The 331 cu in Chevrolet is a .030” over bored 327 with a stock forged crank and 10:1 pistons (pump gas). The cam is a hydraulic flat tappet and adds to the lumpy idle and good throttle response. The intake manifold and heads are aluminum items from DART. The electronic ignition is an Accel HEI unit with a Holley 750 cfm dual feed carburetor on top. Aluminum 7 qt oil pan was also added. Custom aluminum radiator with an electric fan keeps everything running cool. The headers are ceramic coated with side exhaust.
The 350 Turbo transmission has about a 3000 rpm-stall converter with a shift kit, trans cooler, and deep pan.
The chassis was built by Jon Little and uses a 4-link with adjustable coil over shocks and a narrowed Fab 9” Ford differential with Moser axles, long wheel studs and 4.33:1 gears and a mini spool. This was back halved to the tube chassis which has rack & pinion steering with adjustable coil over shocks up front. The brakes are 4-wheel non-power disc. Car stops very evenly and quickly. Wheels are by American Racing with 24/5.00/15 front and 31/18R/15 rear radial tires.
The interior retains the original 1958 Fawn Biege upholstery, door panels, dashboard, and carpeting, but has a 6-point roll bar welded to the frame with a cross bar under the dash. Simpson 5-point safety belts are used with the stock seats. All the factory gauges work including the speedometer/odometer, water temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. Aftermarket AutoMeter tachometer and water temperature gauges were added. Shifting the Turbo 350 is a Precision Performance Products floor mounted shifter.
