GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1979 Chevrolet Corvette
for your consideration. This Corvette comes in a Dark Blue Metallic
exterior over a Beige interior, which was repainted and
reupholstered in 2023. Powering this Corvette is a 350 cubic inch
V8 paired with a 3-speed Turbo Hydra-matic automatic transmission
and Detroit Locker rear end. Believed to be numbers matching, this
Corvette is a strong running and driving example. It comes equipped
with power four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, tilt steering,
power locks, power windows, removable T-tops, rear stow-away
compartments, vacuum-powered headlights and wipers, and more. The
air conditioning is currently non-functioning. Recent service and
updates include new speakers and radio in 2022, a new door lock
switch, new battery, fresh valve cover gaskets, replacement rear
compartment door latch, new gas tank sending unit, and a front air
dam spoiler, new universal joint, new alternator, and fresh Retro
kit in 2023. This Corvette also features a newer Retro stereo and
presents as a great example of a late-seventies C3 Corvette. Drive
this one out of our showroom or have us assist with shipping it to
you anywhere in the United States! Don't hesitate to call us with
any questions or for more information.
The 1979 Chevrolet Corvette was part of the C3 generation, which
Chevrolet produced from 1968 through 1982. By 1979, the Corvette
had evolved into a refined combination of sports-car styling and
improved comfort, while retaining the distinctive long hood, short
rear deck, and removable T-top roof panels that had become
hallmarks of the C3. The 1979 model year was particularly
successful for Chevrolet, with the Corvette benefiting from strong
demand and continued development throughout the decade. Available
with V8 power and automatic or manual transmissions, the Corvette
remained Chevrolet's flagship performance car and one of America's
most recognizable sports cars.
