This custom 1966 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova SS is powered by a
6.2-liter LS3 engine with custom heads, a Texas Speed camshaft,
Comp rockers, head studs, custom headers, an Edelbrock intake and a
custom-painted and pinstriped intake cover with red
Chevrolet-script valve covers. The engine is paired with a 4L80E
four-speed automatic transmission controlled by a standalone
Compushift controller. Cooling is handled by an aluminum Matson
radiator with dual electric fans, and the car is equipped with a
larger Tilden starter. A custom dual exhaust system treated with a
heat-reducing coating uses MagnaFlow mufflers. The chassis features
an Alston front clip, power rack-and-pinion steering, QA1
adjustable coilovers front and rear, a mini-tubbed rear and
four-link rear suspension. Power-assisted four-wheel Wilwood disc
brakes feature a Wilwood master cylinder and Wilwood red six-piston
front and four-piston rear calipers. Starting with a clean,
virtually rust-free car, the body retains its original sheet metal
and was professionally prepared and refinished in a custom BASF
gray with four coats of clear. The jambs, undersides of the doors
and undercarriage were painted to match. Exterior details include
replated chrome, repolished stainless trim, tucked and smoothed
bumpers, a hand-painted rear panel, upgraded Eddie Motorsports hood
and trunk hinges, new weatherstripping and new lenses. The
windshield and rear glass are new, while most of the remaining
glass is original. High-intensity LED headlights also incorporate
daytime running lights. Custom-painted Budnik wheels with polished
outer lips measure 17 inches in front and 18 inches at the rear and
are fitted with Toyo front and Falken rear tires. The red interior
retains the original SS seat frames with new perforated leather
upholstery. The color-matched dashboard houses calibrated and
hand-painted gauges, including an upgraded tachometer. A custom
steering wheel matching the exterior wheel design is mounted to a
painted tilt steering column. Additional interior equipment
includes handmade door-panel grab handles, upgraded door handles
and window cranks, a stock dashboard radio and an aftermarket
stereo in the glove box with remote control, XM radio, CD and iPod
capabilities. The car also has a center console, Vintage Air
climate control, a red suede headliner, matching rear package tray,
front and rear seat belts and Dynamat insulation in the floors,
door panels, roof and trunk. Speakers are concealed behind
perforated door panels and the rear deck. Other equipment includes
an electronic push-button parking brake, seven-speed Detroit Speed
under-dash wiper motor and a finished trunk with a concealed
driver-side fuel door using a carbon-charcoal filter. The seller
has owned the car for 26 years. A hand-painted original Felix
Chevrolet license plate frame is included with the sale, along with
a build book containing build photos.
