Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is excited to present
this 1972 Chevrolet Nova, finished in a bold red exterior over a
black leather interior. This Nova combines the unmistakable styling
of Chevrolet's early-1970s compact with an extensive collection of
modern performance, suspension, electrical, and interior
upgrades.
Under the hood is a Summit Racing 5.3-liter V8 equipped with a
Stage 2 camshaft, 243 cylinder heads, shorty headers, and a full
exhaust system with X-pipe and Speedy mufflers. Supporting
equipment includes a Holley EFI fuel tank and an upgraded radiator
with triple electric fans. Approximately 700 miles have been driven
since the build.
Power is sent through a 4L60 automatic transmission with a
performance-oriented drivetrain. Power steering makes the Nova
easier to maneuver, while the suspension has been upgraded with
tubular front control arms along with front and rear sway bars. New
front disc brakes and rotors are joined by new rear wheel
cylinders, and the car rides on new tires all around.
The electrical system has also received significant attention,
including an American Autowire wiring harness, LED lighting
throughout, and a battery relocated to the trunk. A Dakota Digital
instrument cluster gives the driver updated instrumentation while
maintaining a clean appearance inside the cabin.
The black interior has been completely redone while retaining the
rear bench seat. Modern conveniences include Apple CarPlay, an
eight-speaker audio system with a subwoofer, LED interior lighting,
and air conditioning.
