1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Hardtop. 82,309 miles shown and believed to be true mileage. Original 265, 2bbl, 2spd Powerglide. Working Mark IV dealer installed A/C. I purchased a collection of 6 cars from a widow in Ponca City Oklahoma. I know it sounds like a story, but it’s true! Her husband passed in 2018 and the collection has been sitting in their warehouse ever since. At 88, she finally came to admit that it was time to send the cars to someone who would care for them and bring them back to life. She claims the cars were driven occasionally for parades and to church. She told me she grew up riding in one just like this that her parents owned. Her husband purchased this car locally from a family friend who purchased it new in Ponca to relive the old memories. The car’s id tags show it to have been built in Kansas, same trim powertrain and color combination. It has a vintage style radio. All the lights work, signals, and even the dome light. Car runs drives and brakes well. All windows roll up and down as they should. It was restored to an incredibly high standard. There is no rust. Not even orange peel. The stainless/chrome trim and chrome bumpers are almost perfect. The interior looks virtually brand new with the exception of some slight wear on the carpet. I have hundreds of high-resolution pictures and some videos. The engine bay is ‘clean’ but could use a refresh to bring it to the rest of the car’s standards. I also have photos of when I first saw the cars in the warehouse where they had been stored for years, slowly collecting ‘barn dust’. I want to describe the car as accurately as possible, hence all the photos. Since purchasing, we have changed all fluids, rebuilt the carburetor, replaced the fuel tank, pump and sending unit. We also replaced the master cylinder, brakes, battery and whitewall tires. This car is a real time capsule waiting for its next caretaker. I know they say it all the time, but it must be seen to be appreciated. Get the look of the 2 door without the premium price. If you are a car show person, it will win. When you drive it expect lots of attention. Phenomenal piece of Americana. Prefer to deal with serious buyers willing to talk on the phone and meet in person.
