Survivor with Recent Recommissioning**
Step back in time with this charming and remarkably preserved 1962
Ford Ranchero, a rare gem with an unbroken chain of ownership since
new. This isn't just a classic pickup; it's a testament to enduring
loyalty and practical Americana, now meticulously brought back to
reliable road-ready condition. Dressed in a classic Green exterior
with a complementary Tan and White interior, this Ranchero exudes
vintage appeal, though its original factory colors tell a different
story (see "Factory Specifications" below).
Provenance that Sets it Apart:
What truly distinguishes this Ranchero is its incredible history.
This vehicle was purchased new in Texas, specifically from the
Dallas District Sales Office (DSO 61), where it spent its formative
years in a dry, favorable climate. Approximately 30 years ago, it
made the journey with its devoted owner to Washington State. We
acquired this Ranchero recently from the original owner's estate,
making it a true, honest-to-goodness one-owner vehicle with a story
that spans over six decades. This direct lineage ensures a unique
understanding of its past and a level of care often lost in
multi-owner vehicles. While it had been resting for a short period,
its recent recommissioning means it's eager for its next
chapter.

its original factory scheme.

interior has been changed and now presents in Tan and White, not
its factory Red.

Recent Mechanical Recommissioning - Ready for the Road:
Our team has diligently worked to address common issues found in
vehicles of this age:
Engine & Fuel System: The carburetor has been professionally
rebuilt for optimal performance and efficiency. An electric fuel
pump has been added, providing reliable fuel delivery and peace of
mind.
Exhaust System: A nagging exhaust manifold leak has been expertly
repaired, ensuring proper engine function and a quieter ride.
Chassis & Structure: Attention was given to the vehicle's
structural integrity. Some rust was present in the floor pans and
on the undercarriage, which has been professionally repaired and
patched. While some minor rust issues remain on the undercarriage,
they are not significant and have been addressed where necessary to
ensure a solid foundation.
Maintenance & Safety: The vehicle has received a full service and a
thorough safety check, confirming its readiness for its next
chapter.
Exterior & Body Condition - Honest Charm with History:
This Ranchero wears its history proudly. It received a repaint some
time ago, and while the current green paint job may not be
show-quality, it presents well for a driver and enthusiast. There
are numerous small spots throughout the paint, which may be
difficult to discern in static photos but are visible in a video
walkthrough. It's important to note, as decoded above, that the
vehicle was originally Goldenrod Yellow and Wimbledon White.
Crucially, the body itself is very solid, with no dents, a
testament to its Texas origins. We believe there is no significant
body rust, with the exception of one small bubble noted on the left
front door. The original chrome bumpers remain and present in good
condition, adding to its classic appeal. It rides on Michelin
Defender XT tires on stock rims with cool Moon hubcaps, and these
Michelins have a lot of rubber on them, ensuring modern roadholding
and reliability. The bed is in excellent condition and has been
practically updated with a durable Rhino lining, which looks very
good and is ready for use. This Ranchero retains its classic, stock
appearance, with no unique aftermarket additions to its
exterior.
Interior - Comfortable & Presentable (Post-Factory Changes):
The interior presents in an attractive Tan and White scheme,
offering a comfortable and inviting cabin. The seats are in good
condition and appear original to this current interior setup, as
does the dashboard, which looks really good. The headliner is also
good. The original door panels are present, showing a little bit of
wear and some discoloration consistent with their age. While the
carpets are "so-so" and might be an area for future improvement for
the next owner, the overall cabin environment is quite presentable
and ready to enjoy.
Important Note on Interior Authenticity: For full transparency,
please refer to the "Factory Specifications" section. The vehicle's
data plate (Trim 75) indicates it was originally equipped with a
Red Vinyl and Red Ribbed Fabric interior from the factory. The
current Tan and White interior, while well-preserved and appearing
period-correct for a refreshed interior, is therefore a change from
its original specification.
Air Conditioning: The Ranchero is equipped with an air conditioning
system, though we are unsure if it was factory original or an early
dealer add-on. The air does not currently work, and the compressor
is seized. For those desiring A/C, installing a modern "Vintage
Air" system would likely be the most straightforward and effective
solution.
Audio: The original stock radio does not work. However, a
functional AM/FM and CD player is discreetly located in the glove
box, providing modern entertainment options.
