1970 Plymouth Road Runner

The Road Runner was introduced by Chrysler under the Plymouth brand in 1968 and fit right in with the muscle car era. The idea was to introduce a mid size muscle car with a powerful motor at a price point to undercut some of the more expensive offerings like the Pontiac GTO. To get the name, Plymouth actually had to pay Warner Brothers $50,000 for the Wile E. Coyote cartoon characters license and then an additional $10,000 for the "beep beep" horn. In 1970 a new front and rear end redesign was incorporated into the 1968 body and was a large success. This 1970 is extremely clean and received a very high end complete restoration that was finished in Spring 2016. It has been restored to stock and comes with its original invoice, broadcast sheet and Galen Govier registry information. One of the biggest unique features the car has to offer is it only has 35,250 original miles. During the build the car was repainted but done in its original High Impact Lime Light Green with the Black hood stripe and tail stripe. It has a beautiful finish and looks like new. Prior to the restoration the car had been in storage for 28 years and based on the Govier documentation the car decodes as a 1 of 1 with its specific options. The chrome and trim all has a beautiful finish with no pitting or issues. The glass is all good as well with no chips or scratches. It really is a solid rust free car that needs nothing. Really the only modification from stock is the Cragar SS wheels with Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires that look perfect on a car of this vintage.

Under the hood is its original numbers matching 383ci/335hp V8 engine. Everything looks factory correct in the engine compartment and the motor is topped off with its original dual snorkel air cleaner. Mated to the motor is its original Torqueflite automatic transmission and rear end. It runs great and doesn't have any smoking or issues. It was factory ordered with power brakes (front discs) and power steering so it is a very nicely optioned out car. Mechanically it is all stock and very original.

Inside the car it is all original and in good condition with Dark Green upholstery. From the carpet to the headliner everything is in immaculate condition. It has dual bucket seats and was ordered with the arm rest option. The dash is all very original with its stock gauges and solid state AM radio. Everything works properly and another factory option includes the remote control drivers side mirror. The trunk has plenty of storage space for your car show gear and houses a nice mat with spare.

The car is in great condition throughout and comes with all of its original documentation and build information making it quite the rare Mopar.
