"So I just got the car and when I first saw it, I fell in love with
it. It has been a blast to drive so far. It is a smooth ride and
very reliable in the turns. Would recommend to anyone it would be a
great first car." Testimonial fromkbb.com
For consignment, a 2000 Ford Mustang convertible showing 38,442
miles, but the true miles are unknown due to a PA title exemption.
This one comes with a Marti Report that shows it's one of 434 with
this paint and trim spec.
Exterior
In keeping with tradition, Mustang designers carry over several
design cues on every generation they produce, and this one is no
exception, here in Crystal White with black rocker stripes. With a
more rounded design, shades of the ones that came before them with
recognizable headlights now smoothed into the front end, and the
galloping horse badge in the center. The hood features a slight
indent leading back to a faux scoop then onto the windshield, where
the white canvas top begins, looking good with its glass rear
window. The rear quarters contain sporty intake ducts, ornamental
here but adding to the heritage design. On the back is a
streamlined wing effective spoiler, and flush, three part tail
lights with a large rear neoprene bumper and MUSTANG embossment. 6
spoke polished 15-inh wheels with a central galloping horse badge
are on all 4 corners and carry 205/65R15 tires with a mid 2019 date
code. Imperfections include touched up chips and scratches, others
untouched, scuffs, flex cracks, and chin scrapes.
Interior
Nicely curved molded door panels house the power window, power lock
and power mirror toggles and controls and have a built in speaker
to boot. The white bucket seats have some patina creasing and
typical dulling with an embroidered galloping pony on the back
rest. The passenger bucket and 2+2 in back are also white and
present in very nice condition. Up front, a charcoal dash houses a
simple and standard instrument cluster under an arching dash pad
and the center stack is home to the AM/FM/Cassette radio and
optional CD player, temp controls, and A/C venting. The center
stack melds into the center console holding the shifter in a round
base, looking clean over charcoal carpet with protective matching
mats. Also, a shout out to the trunk which is very clean and
covered with its original felting.
Drivetrain
Under the hood is an original 3.8 liter V6. This mill has EFI on
top and a 4R70W 4-speed automatic transmission on back. The rear
wheels are driven by a Ford 7.5-inch 3.27 conventional rear axle.
Visually, the engine presents cleanly.
Undercarriage
Clean conditions prevail underneath with surface rust coloring the
rear axle and driveshaft. Dual exhaust travels in tandem and meets
FlowMaster mufflers and then terminates through two chrome tips, GT
style, out back. Four wheel power disc brakes are onboard and coil
springs are at both ends with a 4 link in back.
Drive-Ability
No issue here with this now vintage New Edge era Mustang in triple
white coverage. The engine runs well and the car stays grounded
around turns. Piloting an analogue version makes things simple and
you can just sit back and enjoy the ride. All functions on this 26
year old operate as they should. While Classic Auto Mall represents
that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we
cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of
your purchase.
We'll agree with KBB that this would make a fantastic first car for
a young one, especially without the manual. But even for us adults,
this is a sporty little grocery getter with the option open air
experience waiting at the push of a button.
