1968 is part of the fifth generation of the Ford Thunderbird
personal performance luxury car series. A new design that was
radically different from previous Thunderbirds. The stylish front
grille that incorporated hidden headlight. The taillights spanned
the full width of the car, and feature sequential turn signals.
Introdced a radically new "coke bottle" silhouette with a long
hood, sweeping roofline, and elegantly sculpted rear quarter
panels. The 1968 Thunderbird is simply stunning.
Performance and luxury in one package. The 1968 Thunderbird saw the
introduction of the new 385 series big-block "Thunder Jet" 4V
(4-barrel carburetor) 429 cu in (7.0 L) V8 engine. The 429 ci
engine made the '68 some of the fastest Thunderbirds ever produced.
The Thunder Jet produces around 360 horsepower and nearly 500 lb-ft
torque, making it a potent muscle car of the 1960's. The
Thunderbird has had a fresh tune up and is ready for any road
trip.
The luxury continues with black stylish interior with opulent
comfort with plush seating with flight bench seats, and advanced
instrumentation. All gauges are in working order. The original
radio is in place. A new modern AM/FM/CD Jensen stereo placed under
