Description:
This 1971 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am is one of 2,116 examples
produced for the model year and was refurbished in the 1990s before
being stored for the past seven years. The car is powered by a
replacement 455ci V8 linked to a Turbo Hydra-Matic three-speed
automatic transmission and is refinished in white with a blue
stripe over black vinyl. Equipment includes a shaker hood, 15?
Rally II wheels, power-assisted front disc brakes, power steering,
front bucket seats, front and rear spoilers, and a dual exhaust
system.
Interior:
The seating surfaces are trimmed in black vinyl, and engine-turned
metal trim accents the dash. Interior equipment includes front
bucket seats, manual-crank windows, and a heater. The Formula
steering wheel fronts a 160-mph speedometer, a fuel level gauge,
and warning lights for oil pressure, amperage, and coolant
temperature.
Exterior:
The car left the factory in Cameo White (11) and was refinished
during the 1990s refurbishment. Exterior equipment includes a
shaker hood, a front air dam and spoiler, front fender vents, a
blue hood stripe, bright trim, a rear decklid spoiler, and dual
exhaust outlets. The 15? Rally II wheels are mounted with Hankook
Kinergy ST tires measuring 235/60.
Drivetrain:
The replacement 455ci V8 has an aftermarket camshaft, as well as a
Holley electric fuel pump and a replacement exhaust system. Power
is routed to the rear wheels through a Turbo Hydra-Matic
three-speed automatic transmission and an aftermarket
driveshaft.
