Gateway Classic Cars of Charlotte is proud to digitally present
this 1995 Mercedes/Puch G 230GE combines authentic military
character with a professionally restored presentation and
thoughtfully upgraded details.
Powered by a 2.3-liter gasoline engine paired with a 4-speed
automatic transmission, this G 230GE is built for versatility. On
normal roads, it operates in rear-wheel drive, while its 4WD system
and differential locks provide maximum traction when the terrain
gets challenging.
The Puch G 230GE was an Austrian-built military troop transporter,
originally developed through the joint venture between
Steyr-Daimler-Puch and Mercedes-Benz and manufactured in Graz,
Austria. These vehicles were used by the Austrian and Swiss Armed
Forces and earned a reputation for ruggedness, simplicity, and
exceptional off-road capability.
This example retains the practical military troop-transport
configuration, seating two up front and six comfortably on
inward-facing rear benches.
Exterior & Interior
Finished in military green, the exterior has been professionally
restored inside and out by Race City Paint & Body in Mooresville,
North Carolina. The truck rides on 18-inch rims wrapped in
BFGoodrich All-Terrain tires, while the original 14-inch wheels are
included with the vehicle.
Inside, the military utility has been elevated with a custom brown
diamond-stitched leather interior accented by dark green trim.
Removable diamond-stitched floor mats complement the upholstery,
and the versatile two-piece soft top allows the vehicle to be
enjoyed open-air or enclosed depending on the conditions.
