This 1987 Chevy K10 Silverado ShortBox pickup is a beautiful older
restoration that came from Virginia and then spent the last 20
years in Michigan where it was restored and used as a summer
vehicle. Initially it was driven and then 10 years ago the owner
had it restored. This truck has a lot going for it: it is an 87
factory short-bed, 4WD, first year fuel injection, loaded with
factory options, bigger engine, silverado, and awesome factory
2=tone color scheme. The body and paint on this truck is super
straight and looks amazing. It appears to have been disassembled
when painted (including window removal) and had new gaskets and
weatherstripping installed. The Black and Steel Gray Metallic paint
looks amazing in person and the red pinstripe was hand painted. The
past owner was very picky and meticulous and even though the cab
corners and rockers had only minor rust he had them replaced with
new metal. After paint he had new bodyside moldings installed. The
rest of the chrome and trim is original and nice. The underside is
very clean but it is not super detailed because he did enjoy
driving the truck in the summers. The bed was professionally
Line-Xed and it also has a low profile tonneau cover. This thing
has an awesome look!
The interior is extremely nice and mostly original. It shows how
much this truck was cared for over the years. The seat, carpet,
door panels, and dash bezel are original and really nice. The
headliner was replaced and the dash has a cover because of cracks
on the original dash. The headlights, taillights, brakelights, and
turn signals are all working. The gauges all work. It has tilt
wheel and working cruise control. It has working power windows and
locks. The horn and windshield wipers work. The heat and AC also
work. This truck has the dual fuel tank setup which is working.
Mechanically this truck is excellent and it runs and drives
wonderful. The engine is the 5.7L TBI 350 V8 that runs strong with
no issues or red flags that we found. It appears to be all stock
with the exception of the chrome air cleaner (original will be
included). It does have great sounding dual Flowmaster exhaust. The
transmission is the 700R4 Automatic that shifts great. It is mated
to the np208 transfer case and the 4WD works like it should. The
rear axle is the 10 Bolt with 3.73 gears and a factory limited
slip. The front axle is also a 10 Bolt with 3.73 gears. It had
shocks replaced on all 4 corners recently and it has factory quad
shocks on the front. This is all sitting on a nice set of Black
Steel Wheels with Bridgestone Dueler All Terrain tires zize
265/70/17.
