Cruisin Classics is pleased to offer to you this 1969 Buick Skylark convertible. If you're looking for an affordable drop-top classic, you'll want to check this one out! The trim tag on this car tells us that it was originally a Cameo Cream (pale yellow) car, but it comes to us today wearing a respray in a very bright yellow. The yellow paint is certainly eye-catching, but a close inspection finds the paint job to be average driver-quality overall. Up front, a chrome hood spine flows from the windshield to the forward lip where block letters spell out "BUICK". A two-tier black grille with bright surround is flanked by dual side-by-side round headlights. The brightwork on the grille exhibits some pitting and the fitment is a little off where the hood meets the top of the grille. Below is a chrome front bumper with a nice shine. Unfortunately, the bumper appears to be a replacement and it is bent. It is on the car securely, but it does not fit well under the right side of the grille and headlight bezel. It's something that you may not notice at first glance, but we pride ourselves on being honest about our cars. Moving around to the side of the car, that classic Skylark styling really comes into view. This Buick is dressed up with quite a bit of chrome, including windshield and window trim, side mirror, door handles, belt molding, wheel lip molding, rocker molding, and faux fender vents. Up top is a very nice, working. power-operated black convertible top with a clear rear window. The side view is finished off with a set of chrome Superior 5-spoke wheels wrapped in Kumho Solus tires (new in 2021). At the rear of the car you'll find the iconic concave rear bumper, "Buick" and "Skylark Custom" decklid badges, a hidden gas fill behind the license plate, and dual exhaust tips hiding underneath.

Under the hood is a driver-quality black engine bay that is home to a rebuilt 5.7 litre GM 350 V-8 (dated 1968-69) purchased from S&J Engines in 2024 ($3,437) and dressed in "Olds Gold" paint. The engine is topped off with black valve covers and intake, a 2-barrel carburetor, and a black air cleaner. Mated up to the V-8 is a 3-speed TH350 automatic transmission that sends power to the rear wheels through a 10-bolt rear axle. At the front of the engine is a newer water pump and an aluminum radiator with dual electric puller fans. Other highlights include power steering, power 4-wheel drum brakes with a dual reservoir, and cast exhaust manifolds.

Swing open the drivers door to reveal an all-black interior. The door panels appear to be original and they're showing a little age - loose armrest on the drivers side, no knob on the passenger window crank, and carpeted section is worn on the passenger side. Both the front and rear bench seats are covered in black vinyl and the front seat offers seat belts. The front seat is in good condition, but the rear seat has a seam split that has been taped over. Underfoot is newer black hook & loop carpet in very good condition. Ahead of the driver is an original-looking black two spoke steering wheel on a fixed column (horn inop.) with a column shifter. Beyond the wheel is a black vinyl dash that has a split crack in the center. The dash is home to a working speedometer, a fuel gauge, and warning lights for oil, temp, and gen. Also on the dash are switches for the lights and working 2-speed wipers as well as an added aftermarket cruise control system (lights up, but we haven't tested it). There are controls for the heat and fan, but neither works. A Pioneer AM/FM/CD/Bluetooth stereo replaces the original radio and it plays through Kicker speakers in the front kick panels, rear side panels, and a subwoofer in the trunk. The system is powered by two amplifiers - a Kicker CXA300.4 and a Triton EI 1000.1 - both mounted in the trunk. Beneath the stereo there is a hole in the dash where the ashtray belongs. There is an ashtray in the trunk, but it does not fit the track in the dash. Mounted under the dash are a trio of Autogage gauges for oil, volts (inop.), and water, as well as a control knob for the subwoofer in the trunk. There is an accessory switch on the dash that operates the power convertible top, and it works just as it should. When the top goes down, there is a black vinyl boot cover behind the rear seat to cover it. Ahead of the front passenger is a glovebox that contains an owners manual. Back in the trunk are two shop manuals for the car, an old side mirror, an ashtray, the original radio, and the aforementioned stereo components.

If you're looking for a classic convertible that you can hop in and drive to a car show today without breaking the bank- check this Skylark out! It fires right up, runs and drives well, and it has an awesome stereo and a working power top in very good condition! Give our friendly staff a call today before someone else beats you to it!
