For Sale: 1955 Chevrolet 210 in Morgantown, Pennsylvania

Vehicle Description

1955 Chevrolet 210 2-Door Sedan

Here's an interesting factoid. The 1955 Chevrolet was the first successful Chevrolet with an optional V8 since the 1918 Series D which was only produced for a year. Based on Oldsmobile's success with the Rocket 88 in 1949, Chevrolet decided to offer an overhead valve 265ci V8 which was designed to be smaller and lighter than previous V8's in the industry and thus became known as the Chevrolet small block.

For consignment, 1955 Chevrolet 210 2-door sedan showing 1,508 miles, but the true miles are unknown due to a VA title exemption. It's a beautiful car with some go fast goodies like aluminum heads, along with some interior upgrades that make it the perfect candidate for a little show 'n go!

Exterior
Finished in single stage Satin Black over white, the two tone pattern is classic and gives a bit of old school rodding vibe with the muted luster. The new for '55 shoebox design of the car includes flat panels, a broad hood, and bulbous tail between two squared fins capped with now classic tail lights and this one's been nosed and decked, adding to the aggressive look. In '55, the side trim is split, and the rear spear is accented with wing and tail, demarcating where the white paint ends and the black begins. The chrome, from the hood ornament, the bumpers, the light rings, and the polished metal in the trim is in excellent condition. The wheels bring it back to old school street racer with white steel wheels out back and 15-inch American Racing Torque Thrust wheels in front with staggered size tires and a mid 2020 date code. Imperfections are few and include a gap issue on the hood, a few small chips, and a bit of rough surface on the rocker panel.

Interior
Tile stitched vinyl adorns the door panels along with smooth black and white sections and both doors present cleanly. This pattern is mirrored by the rear bench and side walls and also remains clean. Up front, a pair of more modern cloth vinyl and cloth gray bucket seats with good bolstering and in great condition. A three spoke steering wheel on a tilt column fronts the wedge shaped speedometer and bands of black and white across the dash with the A/C panel in place and an added Stewart Warner oil pressure gauge suspended below and an AutoGage tachometer perched on the dash pad. A Hurst floor mounted shifter keeps the palette going with a white ball handle over black loop carpet that's in nice shape. The trunk presents with glossy white paint and spotless conditions.

Drivetrain
Under the big hood is a consignor stated 355ci V8 with aluminum heads, roller rockers, a Holley contender intake and an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor. Setting the car into motion is a T5 5-speed manual transmission with a heavy duty clutch sending power to the rebuilt rear with 3.55 gears and Positraction. The bay is clean and shows this car is equipped with headers, power brakes, power steering and air conditioning.

Undercarriage
Driver quality underneath with surface rust, metal oxidation, and a good bit of rust along the inner rocker panels. The dual exhaust runs cleanly along, entering stock style mufflers before exiting through two straight pipes in back. Brakes include power disc up front and power drums in the back and suspension is the standard set up of coil springs ahead and leaf springs behind.

Drive-Ability
A flag girl would have been appropriate here, but we'll just have to wing it alone as we take this one for a spirited lap where it demonstrates good power and solid acceleration, straight tracking and braking on demand. Not a lot of bells and whistles here to fail and everything that is provided to the driver works as it should on this ground pounding 210. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

This one's for romping and stomping rather than showing and glowing. That doesn't mean it won't be more than welcome at cruise night or car shows, it just has a different vibe. One that's more badass than your typical Tri-Five resto job! And we would change a thing about it!
