This 1981 Porsche 928 is finished in Tin Metallic, and powered by a 4.5L V8 paired with a dogleg 5-speed manual transmission. The car was reportedly imported from Germany in December 1984 by the Tennessee-based previous owner, and the seller acquired the car 14 years ago. Features include power-adjustable Recaro seats, an Escort radar detector, and an aftermarket stereo. Now showing just under 43k miles, this 928 is being offered with its original tool kit, spare, records dating back to 1985, the had an accident by the last owner, passenger side front fender and front bumper and rear glass has a damage, no structural damage as you can see in the pictures. After the accident the car sat about a year.
The Tin Metallic (956) finish is shown up-close in the gallery below. Exterior features include headlamp washers, a rear window wiper, ROW side markers, protective side moldings, and a rear fog light. A sunroof is not equipped, and a dark tint has been applied to the windows.
16″ 7-slot wheels have a polished finish on this car, and wear Kumho Ecsta Supra tires.
The interior is finished in black and came equipped with power windows and air conditioning. Factory seating has been replaced with Recaro seats up front that feature striped inserts, along with power functions and lumbar support. The rear seats feature matching upholstery.
Controls for the power front seats are pictured above. Additional modifications include a Clarion head unit and Denon sub-woofer/equalizer, though the speakers and fan blower are not working. An Escort radar detector is hidden in the ash tray, and the dash lights are said to be dim.
The sticker above shows the odometer was changed from 28,579 kilometers to 17,862 miles in June 1984. A 180-mph speedometer was also installed at that time. The odometer currently indicates just under 43k miles, with the seller adding approximately 3k during last ownership. Last owner spent almost $13K in Service in 2023 at 43K miles, comes with all the records.
The 4.5L overhead-cam V8 is mated to a rear-mounted 5-speed manual transaxle and utilizes Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection. The last timing belt service was reportedly performed in 2004 at 40k miles. We have good passenger side front fender and rear hatch with good glass which we can include in the deal.
