1997 Ford F-250 Heavy Duty SuperCab short bed 4x4 powered by the 7.5L/460 V8 with E4OD automatic transmission. Classic blue-and-white two-tone exterior with blue cloth interior, power windows and locks, air conditioning, sliding rear window, and full gauge cluster with tachometer.
The hood and roof have been professionally repainted in 2024, helping preserve the truck's original two-tone appearance.
Aside from a turtle decal on the rear, the truck remains essentially stock, with no lift, performance modifications or other aftermarket alterations.
This truck has approximately 165,000 miles on the chassis, but the odometer doesn't tell the whole mechanical story. The remanufactured 460 engine has approximately 43,000 miles on it, the current E4OD transmission was rebuilt approximately 8,000 miles ago, and a substantial amount of the suspension, steering, braking, cooling and other mechanical systems has been replaced or serviced.
Much of the recent work remains within warranty, including qualifying repairs carrying 3-year/36,000-mile, 2-year/24,000-mile and other documented warranty coverage. Warranty documentation is included; applicability and transferability are subject to each provider's terms.
The truck comes with approximately 50 pages of receipts and service records covering both my ownership and the previous owner's. A summarized major-service history is also included in the pictures.
Drivetrain
At 122,671 miles, the truck received major documented drivetrain work including a remanufactured 7.5L/460 engine, giving the reman engine approximately 43,000 miles of use at the truck's current mileage.
Supporting documentation for the engine work shows a remanufactured 460 long block along with related components and installation work, including water pump, harmonic balancer, spark plugs, distributor/rotor, belts, hoses, radiator, oil-cooler service, fuel hose and intake-manifold repair.
The E4OD transmission was subsequently rebuilt at 157,270 miles, meaning the transmission currently in the truck has approximately 8,000 miles on its rebuild. That documented rebuild included a torque converter, rebuild kit with gaskets, seals, steels and frictions, transmission fluid/flush and transmission cable.
Extensive documented mechanical work
In addition to the engine and transmission work, a considerable amount of the truck has been mechanically renewed or serviced.
Major documented work includes:
Four Falken Wildpeak A/T4W tires were installed at 156,320 miles. That service also included substantial front brake work, including front rotors and pads, wheel seals, brake hose, and left front caliper.
Shortly afterward, at 158,027 miles, the rear brakes were serviced, including rear brake shoes/pads, both rear wheel cylinders, and brake-fluid service.
At approximately 162,800 miles, all four ball joints, axle spindle bearings, wheel seals and front leaf-spring bushings were replaced.
At approximately 163,100 miles, the truck received I-beam pivot bushings along with substantial cooling-system and A/C work, including radiator and radiator hoses, cooling-system service, parallel-flow A/C condenser and A/C recharge.
The front leaf-spring assembly was replaced at approximately 163,300 miles.
A heavy-duty catalytic converter was also replaced recently at 164,000 miles.
Condition
This is not a restored show truck, and I'm not representing it as one. It is a nearly 30-year-old F-250 that has actually been driven and used as a truck.
The exterior has scratches, chips and other cosmetic imperfections consistent with its age and use. The undercarriage has some orange/red discoloration and staining from Arkansas clay and mud. I have not observed significant rust, but prospective buyers are encouraged to review the undercarriage and inspect the truck themselves rather than relying solely on my assessment.
The truck presents well for its age, but the value here is not cosmetic perfection. It's the combination of the 460 V8, 4x4, SuperCab short-bed configuration, extensive mechanical work and thorough documentation.

Approximately 50 pages of receipts and service records are available to serious buyers, including documentation from both current and previous ownership.
