This 1978 Chevy Scottsdale K20 is a Camper Special. This is a 2
Owner truck that spent its life in the Pacific NW (Oregon) so it is
a clean and solid truck. This era of truck is extremely difficult
to find. This truck is very original and has always been well cared
for/maintained and it shows. We have a bunch of receipts that will
come with the truck that go to around 2005 when the 2nd owner
passed away. The wife kept the truck stored inside until about 2019
when she got it out and had someone go through it for her to get it
in ready to drive condition. This truck has some really cool
factory options like tilt wheel, cruise control, dealer installed
CB Radio, 2 Tone paint, and Factory 400 V8 engine. The body on this
truck is clean and straight. The Mariner Blue and Light Blue paint
appears to be original. The hood may have been painted but we are
not 100% sure. It is a really cool color combo and the truck buffed
out really cool with the original paint and patina coming through.
It still has all of its original deluxe trim and the the chrome and
trim is in great original condition. The underside is original and
clean and shows the normal surface rust on bare metal parts. Other
than that we found no rust issues with this truck.
The interior is in really nice condition and is mostly original.
The bench seat was professionally reupholstered and looks new. The
floor mat, door panels, das pad, and dash bezel are all original
and nice. The headlights, taillights, brakelights, and turn signals
are all working. The gauges all work. The horn and windshield
wipers work. It has tilt wheel and working cruise control. The
factory radio and CB work. The heat also works.
Mechanically this truck is excellent and it runs and drives great!!
The engine is the 6.6L 400 V8 that runs strong with no issues or
red flags that we found. This is a rare 509 small block and the
engine was pulled and rebuilt around 7 years ago when the widow was
getting the truck ready to drive. It was rebuilt to stock Spec.
Unfortunately she was not able to provide receipts but you can see
it was done by gaskets, freeze plugs, etc. At that time It received
a new alternator, new starter, new fuel pump, new distributor, a
Reman Quadrajet Carb, and dual exhaust. It is a very stock look
under the hood. It has the Turbo 400 Automatic Transmission that
shifts great. It was rebuilt around 10,000 miles ago and we have
the receipt. It is mated to the np203 transfer case which was also
rebuilt around 10,000 miles ago and they added a part-time 4WD kit.
The 4WD works like it should. The rear axle is a Corporate 14 Bolt
with 4.10 gears. The front axle is a Dana 44 with 4.10 gears and
factory power front disc brakes. It also has power steering. This
is all sitting on the stock factory wheels and hubcaps with
245/75/16 All Terrain tires.
This is an awesome rig for someone!!! We drive what we sell so that
we can give you a first hand and accurate report on how the vehicle
runs and drives. Our pictures are never touched up or photoshopped.
What you see is an accurate representation of the vehicle. We take
consistent pictures and show you everything so you can get a true
representation of the vehicle.
