For Sale: 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air in St. Louis, Missouri

Vehicle Description

Some classics are meant to sit under fluorescent lights and collect trophies. This 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible was built to drop the top, grab another gear, and let 502 cubic inches do the talking.

Finished in the iconic Red and White two-tone combination with a White convertible top, this '55 has all the timeless Tri-Five style Chevrolet got right from the beginning-but underneath that classic skin is a completely different animal.

Under the hood sits a monster Chevrolet ZZ502 Big Block, bringing serious cubic inches and big-block attitude to the party. Instead of dealing with an old-school carburetor, the 502 is topped with Holley Sniper electronic fuel injection, delivering modern fuel management, easier starts, and crisp throttle response. A March billet serpentine belt systemcleans up the front of the engine and gives the engine bay the finished look a build of this caliber deserves.

And thankfully, somebody had the good sense to put three pedals in this thing.
Backing the 502 is a Tremec TKX close-ratio 5-speed manual transmission, putting complete control of that big-block power right in the driver's hands. Row through the gears around town, hammer through them when the road opens up, and drop it into fifth when it's time to cruise.

Out back is a properly built 12-bolt differential equipped with an Eaton Positraction unit, Strange axles, and 3.55:1 gears-a killer combination for a street-driven big-block car. It gives the 502 enough gear to get nasty when you bury the throttle without making highway cruising miserable.

A car with this much motor needs more than 1955 suspension and brakes, so this Bel Air has been seriously upgraded underneath. A complete CCP suspension package includes upgraded control arms, front and rear sway bars, springs, and drop spindles, while Viking shocks help keep everything planted and controlled. The stance is right, the handling is dramatically improved, and this Tri-Five is built to actually be driven.

Stopping power has received the same treatment with a complete CCP four-wheel disc brake system, giving this big-block convertible the braking capability to match the horsepower under the hood.

Drop the white top and the interior looks every bit as good as the exterior. The beautiful White interior keeps the unmistakable style of a '55 Chevrolet while Dakota Digital analog-style gauges provide modern accuracy without looking out of place in the classic dash.

Creature comforts haven't been forgotten either. A Vintage Air system provides both air conditioning and heat, making this Bel Air comfortable when the weather isn't cooperating with your top-down plans. A RetroSound AM/FM stereo with AUX input delivers modern audio capability while maintaining the vintage appearance of the dash.

This is what happens when one of America's most recognizable classics gets the drivetrain it always deserved.
You still get the Red and White paint, white convertible top, gorgeous white interior, chrome, fins, and unmistakable Tri-Five presence-but now you've got a ZZ502 Big Block, Sniper EFI, Tremec TKX 5-speed, Eaton Positraction 12-bolt, upgraded CCP suspension, Viking shocks, four-wheel disc brakes, Vintage Air, and modern audio underneath it.

Top down. Big block fired. Five gears waiting.
This isn't Grandpa's Sunday cruiser.
It's a 1955 Bel Air Convertible with 502 cubic inches of attitude.
