1969 Ford Torino Cobra For SaleThis 1969 Ford Torino Cobra is
documented with a Marti Report, shows 94,000 miles designated as
original on its Pennsylvania title, and presents in black over a
black interior. The Cobra was Ford's answer to the Plymouth Road
Runner, built on a simple formula: put the biggest engine in the
lineup into the lightest, least expensive body Ford could justify,
and spend nothing on trim that did not make the car faster. Every
Cobra left the factory with the 428 Cobra Jet as standard
equipment, which is what separates it from a Torino GT with a
checked option box.Power comes from the 428ci Cobra Jet V8,
advertised by Ford at 335 horsepower, a rating widely regarded at
the time as conservative relative to what the engine actually
produced. Behind it is a close-ratio 4-speed manual, the setup the
Cobra was designed around, feeding a 3.50 Traction-Lok
differential. That combination puts the car squarely in its
intended territory: short gearing, a limited-slip out back, and a
big-block with a wide torque curve. The chassis reflects the Cobra's
competition suspension package, which was mandatory equipment with
the 428 and consisted of higher-rate springs, a larger-diameter
front stabilizer bar, and firmer shock valving. Four-speed cars
also received the staggered rear shock arrangement, with one shock
mounted ahead of the axle and one behind it, to control wheel hop
under hard launches. Braking is handled by front discs and rear
drums, with the front discs representing an option on these cars
rather than base equipment. Inside, the black interior follows the
Cobra's intentionally spare presentation, with the Fairlane 500
trim level Ford used to keep the car's price where it needed to
be.The car carries its documentation in two directions. The Marti
Report establishes how it was originally configured and built,
while receipts and records cover a comprehensive repaint performed
in the late 2000s along with an older restoration before it.
Combined with the title's original mileage designation, the paper
trail on this Cobra is more complete than most surviving
examples.NFI Empire specializes in classic, exotic, modified, and
