This car was built D&D Corvette for John Hinckley, a long time General Motors engineer, NCRS Corvette restorer and 200 level Master Judge, and inductee into the Corvette Hall of Fame. This car is # 39 of 124 built. It was built from the ground up with the frame being fabricated using the original blueprints from the 5 original 5 Grans Sports from 4-inch round tubes .125 inches thick 4130 chrome molly. It utilizes 1992 Corvette suspension and brakes with Aldan coil-over shocks. The engine is a 383 that was built by the Winston Cup Division of Jasper Performance Engines in Jasper, Ind. the specs of which are available by request. Power is delivered to the Dana 44 rear end via a NASCAR Spec Billet 6-speed and Centerforce clutch. It is also equipped with Vintage Air Conditioning and an Alpine stereo system.
