1966 CHEVROLET CHEVELLE SS 396 138 VIN, 4 SPEED TRANS, 12 BOLT POSI
REAR This 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS is great looking! It presents
itself very well. Looking down both sides, the body is straight. It
wears a factory color Madeira Maroon, The paint shows extremely
well and is very glossy and smooth. The door jambs are very clean
and glossy. The chrome and trim are bright and shiny including the
door handles, emblems, taillights, front and rear bumpers. The
windshield and windows are crystal clear, the weather stripping and
window seals have all been replaced. It sits on a set of Cragar SS
wheels 15x7 on the front and 15x8 on the rear. The wheels have a
set of BFG T/A radial tires 215/60/15 front and 255/60/15 on the
rear, that really enhance the car's appearance! The Black interior
is in great shape. The seat upholstery, door panels, armrests,
carpet and headliner all look really good. All the interior lights
work. In between the black bucket seats is a factory console with a
Hurst 4 speed shifter coming out of it. Looking forward at the
dash, the speedometer and fuel lenses and crystal clear. The trim
around the dash is very nice; it has all been replaced. The heater
controls slide with ease. It has a retro AM/FM radio. It also
features 3- pod gauges that are mounted nicely under the dash.
Nothing appears cut-up or altered. The engine compartment is clean
and orderly with a completely rebuilt, date coded 396 ci engine
wearing casting number 3969854. It has a few performance upgrades:
Edelbrock aluminum RPM Performer intake manifold with Holley
Snipper Fuel Injection, upgraded HEI ignition for reliability,
factory style valve covers, chrome air cleaner, 4 core radiator
with factory shroud and a power brake booster with an upgraded dual
master cylinder. Everything is nice and tidy. The undercarriage is
all clean and solid metal (floors, frame, etc.). The bottom of the
motor is clean. The M20 Muncie 4-speed transmission is clean. The
front end components look to have been mostly replaced. It has a
newer Flowmaster dual exhaust system that runs out the back of the
car. It has a 12-bolt 3:55 posi rear end. The E-brake assembly is
all hooked up and working. The trunk is all clean metal, it is
nicely detailed with a spare tire, jack assembly, lug wrench and
new weather stripping. The bottom of the trunk lid and the jambs
are glossy. This is a sharp looking Chevelle SS with great looks.
This Chevelle performs really well and is turn-key ready to enjoy!
