GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1963 Chevrolet Corvair
Monza Convertible for your consideration. Finished in its original
Ember Red paint over its original Black interior, this Corvair is a
remarkably well-preserved example that has been meticulously cared
for throughout its life. Power comes from the air-cooled 145 cubic
inch Flat 6 engine paired with a desirable 4-speed manual
transmission, offering a unique and engaging driving experience.
This Corvair spent an incredible 58 years with its previous owner,
a testament to the care and pride of ownership it has received.
Recent maintenance includes a new exhaust system, new oil pan
gasket, and new manifold gaskets completed on 9/5/24 totaling
$2,359, along with five brand new tires installed in 2024. In March
of 2026, it also received a fresh oil change and had the valve
cover threads in the cylinder drilled and repaired with a
Heli-Coil. Additional features include a manual convertible top,
chrome front and rear bumpers, a full-size spare tire, a spacious
front trunk ("frunk"), numerous original owner's booklets, and
accompanying maintenance records. Drive this one out of our
showroom or have us assist with shipping it to you anywhere in the
United States! Don't hesitate to call us with any questions or for
more information.
Introduced for the 1960 model year, the Chevrolet Corvair was one
of the most innovative American automobiles of its era, featuring a
rear-mounted, air-cooled flat-six engine and independent suspension
at all four corners. By 1963, the Corvair had continued to evolve
with refinements to its styling and engineering, while the Monza
trim had become the most popular model thanks to its sporty
appearance and upscale interior appointments. Available in coupe,
sedan, and convertible body styles, the Corvair offered a driving
experience unlike anything else produced by the Big Three, and
today it remains a favorite among collectors for its distinctive
engineering, timeless styling, and unique place in American
automotive history.
