This is such a COOL truck from the very first generation of F Series Ford trucks! Yes, Ford spent over a million dollars in research and tooling on the production of this truck that started it's life in 1948. Here we have one from 1950. Larger cab, more payload and a new, one piece windshield. Also, new for any truck a standard drivers side sun visor, ash tray and glove box. A big deal for trucks during that time period.
This is a nice, factory stock, high end driver quality truck. One that super nice and makes you proud to own but yet not so nice that your afraid to drive it. It's most recent owner drove this car quite regularly. I love that all it's previous owners resisted the urge to resto-mod this truck which is what happened to so many others. That coupled with the fact that these trucks were built to work and used up and thrown away decades ago, makes this quite a rare sight in this form nowadays.
Recently tuned by a local classic car repair service, the truck is very turn key. A little cantankerous at cold start up (choke) but once warmed up, she'll run all day.
Super straight body with no rust or corrosion to speak of. A VERY CLEAN truck. A scuff or chip or scratch here and there but that's to be expected for a truck being used. Looks like an older repaint in a very period and correct dark blue. A reupholstered seat in correct leather/vinyl. A clean interior overall. Nice original dashboard with all working gauges. Even the gas gauge works. Nice chrome bumpers and trim. Decent tires.
