Offered for sale with No Reserve is this exceptionally
well-maintained 1990 Volkswagen Vanagon GL Westfalia Full Camper. A
true adventure-ready classic, this Westfalia is powered by its
original 2.1-liter Wasserboxer four-cylinder engine paired with a
desirable automatic transmission. The current owner purchased the
van in Oregon in 2017 and drove it across the country to Maine in
2023. According to the consignor, the van has never been driven
during Maine's winter salt season and remains in remarkably
original, solid condition. The van is currently registered in Maine
as a motorhome, carries a Maine inspection sticker valid through
October 2026, and is described as starting, running, idling,
driving, shifting, and stopping smoothly. Since arriving in Maine,
it has been professionally maintained by the specialists at Foreign
Auto & Supply in Harpswell. The odometer currently reads 68,917
miles. While the consignor notes that the original maintenance
books suggest the mileage may not be actual, the vehicle has been
consistently serviced and extensively documented throughout its
ownership. Finished in its original Flash Silver paint, the body is
described as straight and solid with only minor scratches, small
dings, and minimal surface seam rust consistent with age and
careful use. The original gray interior, upholstery, curtains, and
rear hatch screen remain in excellent condition, while the pop-top
canvas is also reported to be in excellent shape. Factory features
include power windows, power locks, power mirrors, cruise control,
and air conditioning, all of which are said to function properly.
The air conditioning was recently serviced and recharged. All
Westfalia camping equipment, including the sink, stove, and
three-way refrigerator, is fully operational and was last used
during camping trips in 2025. This Westfalia has received an
impressive list of recent maintenance and upgrades. Major
mechanical work includes a new fuel tank and fuel lines, throttle
body, torque converter, mass air flow sensor, radiator, stainless
steel coolant pipes, muffler, differential pan, charcoal canister,
front wheel bearings, axle seals, lower control arm bushings, rear
trailing arm bushings, water pump belts, power steering belt,
alternator belt, and numerous cooling system and drivetrain
components. Additional improvements include a new GoWesty propane
tank with regulator, stainless steel fuel line firewall adapter,
GoWesty LiFePO auxiliary battery, Renogy DC-to-DC charger and
100-watt foldable solar panel, ARB awning with LED lighting,
Bluetooth stereo, LED interior lighting, updated speakers, front
table, GoWesty mattress topper, and many other thoughtful upgrades.
Included with the sale are the original owner's manuals, dealer
paperwork, import documentation, complete maintenance records
dating back to 2016, Bentley factory service manual, Haynes repair
manual, two all-weather covers, snow chains, solar panel, camping
equipment, leveling blocks, propane heater, hookup cords and hoses,
camp table, mattress topper, theft deterrent device, and numerous
additional accessories. According to the consignor, changing travel
interests have made it time for this iconic camper to find its next
caretaker. With extensive documentation, outstanding maintenance
history, desirable upgrades, and fully functional camping
equipment, this 1990 Volkswagen Vanagon GL Westfalia is ready for
its next adventure. Sold with a Registration.
