For Sale: 2004 Ford F250 in Morgantown, Pennsylvania

Vehicle Description

2004 Ford F250 Super Duty 4x4 Supercab Harley Davidson Edition Short Bed Pickup

"The collaboration between Ford and Harley-Davidson officially roared to life in 1999, when the 2000 Harley-Davidson F-150 was unveiled at the Sturgis Rally in South Dakota. It was the first time a major automotive manufacturer had co branded a production truck with the iconic motorcycle brand. By 2004, Ford introduced Harley-Davidson editions of the F-250 and F-350, combining the same signature styling with a diesel powertrain and heavy towing capability. These were based on the Lariat trim and included engine options like the 6.8L Triton V10 and 6.0L PowerStroke Diesel, with later years being Crew Cab only. Paint options ranged from two tone flame jobs to monotone black with signature Competition Orange accents." Vehicles.ridefox.com

For consignment, a 2004 Ford super Duty 4x4 Supercab Harley Davidson Edition short bed pickup truck showing 283,777 miles, but the true miles are unknown. This good looking truck with the long name has new head gaskets and heads secured with ARP studs.

Exterior
The two tone Black over Dark Shadow Metallic layering is delineated by an ornamental detail that includes white lines bordered by bands of orange along the waistline, making for a handsome and unique profile. And speaking of profile, chrome 18-inch wheels with a Harley logo add some definite bling and are complemented by the tubular chrome side step, all capped by Harley/F250 badge on the fenders. Smoked Altezza style tail lights are a nice touch, and the rear corner view also includes some orange scripted writing on the bed. A bold front leads the truck with a big black grille over a robust bumper with thick tow hooks and an added LED light bar, all flanked by mirrors sized for a F250. A black vinyl tonneau cover shades the bed and is in great condition. Imperfections include some dulling of the paint on horizontal surfaces and leaving a pattern on the roof, scuffs, chips, minor bubbling on the tailgate, and light crazing. For a truck with over 200k, it's in great shape on the outside.

Interior
Black plastics and vinyl make up the four door panels which have also remained in good shape and allow entry to tall front buckets in black leather, matched in color and material by the back bench. Both sides show some patina, and as usual, the driver's seat shows the most. A black steering with some thumb controls fronts the Harley branded instrument cluster with silver faced gauges augmented by some A-pillar units. The center console is home to an AM/FM/CD/Cassette radio and Ford common A/C knob panel. Harley insignia is planted on the bucket seats and armrest storage lid. Black carpet and weather mats below, a formed and clean headliner and overhead console above. The bed is clean but there is substantial rust at the bottom of the tailgate and lower panel.

Drivetrain
In the busy bay, we have a 6.0 liter Powerstoke turbo diesel V8, SCT tuned and with added oil cooler, new head gaskets, ARP head studs and EGR delete. It's mated to a TorqueShift 5-speed automatic transmission routing power to 3.73 gears in both axles with limited slip in the rear.

Undercarriage
Where the rubber meets the road we find some typical surface rust and corrosion along with numerous spots of the flaking stuff on the rocker panels body braces. There's also some advanced surface rust on the bottom of a door. For components, we have power disc brakes on all four wheels, leaf springs front and rear, and a single exhaust with the muffler deleted and exiting behind the right rear wheel.

Drive-Ability
We climb up into this big rig and get the diesel going, tracking this F250 around the test loop where it performs well and offers an ultra comfortable cabin. We note the transmission occasionally shifts oddly into first and third and the tow haul light flashes on the shifter. All other functions on this pampered pickup work as they should. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

Approximately 8,000 Harley Davidson editions were produced in 2004 between the F250 and F350, but seeing them in the wild is now a fairly rare occurrence. They are distinct vehicles that combine two American icons; Harley bikes and Ford trucks!
