For Sale: 2000 Ford Mustang in Morgantown, Pennsylvania

Vehicle Description

2000 Ford Mustang GT Coupe

"The Mustang had significant stylistic updates last year, and so little changed for 2000. But that's no problem. Ford has done a great job keeping the Mustang up to date, and balancing performance with practicality and value. Although some of its competitors are on the endangered species list, Ford's little pony car is healthy, and, in most ways, better than ever. It is offered in coupe and convertible body styles in three levels of performance - with a 3.8 liter V6, the 4.6 liter single overhead cam V8 GT, and the limited production 5.4 liter twin cam V8 Cobra R." Theautochannel.com

For consignment, a 2000 Ford Mustang GT coupe with a title verified 67,762 actual miles. Not long ago, some performance enhancing measures were added to this GT for better power, better handling, and easier shifts.

Exterior
We'll get to the mechanical upgrades, but it's the exterior that registers first and this one presents with vibrant Zinc Yellow paint, an enormous cowl hood, integrated Roush side skirts, rear cladding, and an aluminum wing that looks mile track ready. Quarter window louvers and smoked tail lights add to the contrasting dark features, most prominently displayed by the SVE wheels. We have 17-inch in front and 15-inch in back with staggered height rubbers with a late 2021 date code, notably Mickey Thompson ET Street R's in back. This rowdy racer is a great looking car but not without some imperfections that include scuffs, capped holes and rough surface on the decklid, a chip in the windshield, flex cracks, chips, scratches, scuffs, and rock chips peppering the front.

Interior
If all you saw were the door panels, you would think you're looking at a low mileage, stock GT that just left the showroom as both present in clean, original condition. Turn inward and the Kirkey racing buckets slap you into reality and have the race harnesses to keep you there! It's rear seat delete for this one and that area is nicely finished with black panels. A rollbar is on board and up front, it looks like mission control with gauges along the A-pillar and a big tachometer and shift light on the dash in addition to the typical array of factory gauges. It's fronted by a grippy aftermarket steering wheel and a Hurst short throw shifter lives in the center console. And when you're not racing down the track, there's an AM/FM/CD radio for your listening pleasure. The clean trunk takes things back to stock Mustang territory.

Drivetrain
Things get serious here with the 4.6 liter SOHC V8 now attached to a Vortech V3 S1 supercharger and harboring Comp Cams Stage 2 cam and 47 lb/hr injectors. Behind it, a Tremec T45 5-speed manual with a McLeod lightened flywheel and street clutch. Power is routed to the Ford 8.8 rear with 4.10 gears, TracLoc, and Moser axles. Headers are also on board.

Undercarriage
The clean underside features dual exhaust with cutouts; one option is routing the exhaust through Black Widow mufflers and dumping under the car, the second choice has the exhaust going straight to the side exhaust ahead of each rear wheel. We note the lack of catalytic converters onboard. Power disc brakes are on all four wheels and suspension includes coil springs and Strange 10-way adjustable struts up front and coil springs, four link, and Lakewood 50/50 shocks in back.

Drive-Ability
With about 3,000 miles on this build according to our consignor, the still fresh modifications make for a spirited lap around our test loop where even through mufflers, this car makes some pleasant noise. It also tracks straight, handles well, and stops when asked. All functions available operate as they should and we take this bright car inside to be under the lights, even as it practically glows on its own! While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

There's no escaping the profile here, nor the color, and both are impressive. And while some boy racer additions have bark but no bite, we're guessing this winged ride is capable of some outstanding E.T.'s. Follow the yellow brick road to Morgantown PA and pick up this bright stallion for your stable!
