2014 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab 4x4 Longhorn Short Bed Pickup
"Above all, we found the 2014 Ram filled with creature comforts
that made it enjoyable to be in while driving anywhere. For the
most part, the controls, dials and switch were easy to operate. The
seats were comfortable for long cruises. The HVAC systems,
electronics, audio and navigation system were simple to use.
Visibility was excellent through large windows, as well as generous
mirrors that were easily adjustable. It was, in fact, a pretty darn
good place to be." Offroadxtreme.com, Feb., 2014
For consignment, a 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad cab 4x4 Longhorn short
bed pickup truck with a title verified 30,112 actual miles. This is
a one owner truck who assures us the truck has never seen kids or
pets, never been offroad or seen snow, and is accident free. Garage
kept and dealer maintained. Those are some admirable checked
boxes!
Exterior
The truck's Bright White Clearcoat coverage has a number of
noteworthy customizations and additions that make this one stand
out. Two tone blue pinstriping runs down the shoulder line of the
truck and includes flourishes on the front and rear fenders. A
matching Leer cap tops the bed and changes the profile of the truck
and many would argue, for the better! Finally, there's an
airbrushed mural on the tailgate depicting an ocean inlet flanked
by lighthouses. Wide mirrors and a long running board also reside
on the sides along with 20-inch polished wheels with LT275/60R20's
wrapped around. This pampered pick up is clean and straight, and
our intrepid inspector found just two scratches.
Interior
Robust panels of gray and black plastic with a slightly complex
design cling to the inner doors and each of the four presents
cleanly and with plenty of storage. Leather sided seats accompany
pleasing cloth inserts that keep with the gray and black palette
and seats front and rear are immaculate. A three spoke steering
wheel is supplied with integrated switchgear and front an
attractive set of gauges in the cluster with their black faced
dials and halo-type rim. The protruding center stack holds the
touch screen with AM/FM/XM/Bluetooth radio, A/C control panel, and
dial gear selector, along with vents and a storage cubby.
Contrasting colors adorn the poles with black carpet covering the
floor and a light gray formed headliner above and both are in great
shape. In back, the bed is protected by a Leer bed insert and both
the sidewall paint and liner are in excellent condition.
Drivetrain
The large bay makes the Hemi look small, but it sits close to the
firewall and leaves room for air intake, a big fan shroud and all
else needed for creature comforts. Here we have a 5.7 liter Hemi V8
rated at 395 horsepower and mated to an 8HP70 8-speed automatic
transmission routing power to the 9 " rear axle and Dana 44 up
front. It's clean under the big hood!
Undercarriage
Some typical surface rust and oxidation but overall clean
conditions are found underneath. Power disc brakes are equipped at
all four wheels and suspension consists of radius arms and coil
springs up front and a multi-link with coil springs in back. A
single exhaust runs through an original muffler and then splits to
find resonators and big chrome tips that exit out back.
Drive-Ability
This well maintained Ram does everything well and we can confirm
the praise for comfort and amenities. You'll want for nothing as
you make your way to the lake, mountains, ocean, or Lowes. All
functions on this sturdy rig operate as intended and it provides
plenty of power too. You'll find this one in one of our two truck
rooms when you visit. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these
functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot
guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your
purchase.
The car hobby and capable 4x4 trucks go hand in hand which is why
we're proud to represent nice examples like this one. It's
powerful, clean, comfortable, and barely broken in! As modern
trucks become laden with computers, electronics, and all kinds of
gadgetry, trucks like this one, just 12 years old, are a refreshing
change with just enough technology.
