Headlights Blending timeless Cadillac styling with modern
performance and drivability, this 1948 Cadillac Series 62
Convertible has been expertly transformed into a stunning custom
street rod. Built under previous ownership and further refined
after its acquisition in 2025, this one-of-a-kind Cadillac features
a fuel-injected 5.7-liter Tuned-Port Injection V8, modern
suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, and numerous thoughtful
upgrades throughout. Finished in a striking purple with a black
convertible top, the body has been extensively customized with
frenched headlights, shaved door handles and trunk hardware, a
body-color grille and side moldings, tinted glass, fender skirts,
and chrome bumpers with guards. Riding on 15-inch body-color
smoothie wheels with baby moon hubcaps, trim rings, and wide
whitewall tires, the Cadillac has an unmistakable custom appearance
enhanced by its lowered stance. The suspension has been upgraded
with a Mustang II-style independent front suspension featuring
tubular control arms and adjustable front coilovers, while lowering
blocks have been added to the rear leaf springs. Four-wheel disc
brakes and power steering provide confident, modern road manners.
Inside, the custom interior is trimmed in gray leather, extending
across the split front bench seat, rear bench, door panels, and
tonneau cover. The body-color dashboard is beautifully accented
with hand-laid pinstriping and engine-turned metal trim, creating a
classic hot rod aesthetic. Modern amenities include Vintage Air
climate control, power windows, a Bluetooth-capable Kenwood digital
media receiver, a tilt steering column, AutoMeter instrumentation,
and an updated wiring harness. Electric door poppers and modified
rear window regulators were also added under current ownership.
Power comes from a 5.7-liter Tuned-Port Injection V8, dressed with
a custom engine cover featuring Cadillac badging and a flying
goddess hood ornament, all color-matched to the exterior. The
engine is paired with a 2004R four-speed automatic transmission and
a Ford rear axle, providing reliable cruising performance. Recent
servicing under current ownership included repairing oil leaks,
resealing the oil pan, adjusting the transmission linkage, and
replacing the water pump, muffler, and drivetrain mounts. The
digital odometer displays approximately 800 miles, though total
chassis mileage is unknown, and the accompanying New Jersey title
is branded "Not Actual Mileage." Combining the unmistakable
presence of a postwar Cadillac with modern mechanicals and
carefully executed custom touches, this exceptional street rod
offers an ideal blend of classic style, comfort, and dependable
performance. -- This item is a part of Saratoga Motorcar Auction's
