Powering the iconic Bird would be the newest version of GM's corporate small-block V-8, which was designated LT1. Introduced on the new-for-'93 Fourth-Gen Firebird platform, the 5.7- liter, sequential-port, fuel- injected, 350ci cast-iron mill made 270 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque. It was the start of the modern muscle car wars, as V-8 powered Firebirds now dictated their street prowess in a way not seen since the '70s.
