The 2001 Mitsuoka Galue II (Galue 2) is a rare, luxury Japanese
Domestic Market (JDM) sedan manufactured by the niche automaker
Mitsuoka Motor. It is highly recognizable for its polarizing,
coach-built retro-classic styling---featuring a prominent chrome
grille and circular headlights meant to mimic vintage British
luxury cars like Bentleys and Rolls-Royces---juxtaposed against a
modern Japanese chassis.Unlike the original Galue I (which was
built on the utilitarian Nissan Crew platform), the Galue II
(produced from 1999 to 2005) moved upmarket.Because the Galue II is
a hand-modified vehicle, its mechanical skeleton, electrical
architecture, and interior ergonomics are identical to its donor
cars.- Base Platform: Built on the luxury Y34 Nissan Cedric and
Nissan Gloria hardtop sedans.- Engine Options: Equipped with
Nissan's fuel-efficient, "Neo" direct-injection V6 engines:* 2.5L
V6 (VQ25DD): Generates 210 horsepower and 265 Nm of torque.* 3.0L
V6 (ZQ30DD): Generates 240 horsepower and 309 Nm of torque.-
Drivetrain: Rear-wheel drive (RWD) mated to a 4-speed or 5-speed
automatic transmission (no manual option was offered).- Dimensions:
A massive footprint, measuring 5,060 mm (199.2 inches) in length,
1,770 mm in width, and weighing roughly 1,620 kg.Quirks & Features-
Bespoke Exterior, Stock Interior: While the front fenders, hood,
and rear fascia are entirely customized with unique fiberglass work
and custom lighting, the interior heavily retains the donor
Nissan's dash, seats, and even the original Nissan emblem on the
steering wheel airbag.- Ride Quality: It drives exactly like a
high-end early-2000s Nissan luxury cruiser, offering a smooth,
plush ride with "power" and "snow" transmission modes.107,716
