There is nothing cookie-cutter about this 2010 ASVE Speedster
Roadster. Built in the tradition of the stripped-down roadsters
that helped launch American hot rodding, this custom machine
combines timeless open-air attitude with modern LS muscle. Its
two-tone black finish, chopped windshield, chrome front suspension,
and staggered 17-inch and 20-inch Billet Specialties wheels create
a low, purposeful profile that looks ready to pounce.
The business end of the equation is a 5.7-liter LS1 V8 backed by a
proven Turbo 350 automatic transmission and a floor-mounted Lokar
shifter. A serpentine belt system keeps the accessory drive tidy,
while an aluminum radiator with an electric fan helps manage
temperatures when traffic slows down. Power heads rearward to a
stout Currie 9-inch rear end, giving this lightweight Speedster the
hardware to match its attitude.
Underneath, the chassis is fitted with a four-link rear suspension,
coilovers at all four corners, rack-and-pinion steering, and
electric power assistance. Four-wheel disc brakes provide confident
stopping power, while the manual brake setup keeps pedal feedback
direct. The combination of modern suspension geometry, compact
dimensions, and LS1 power should make this Roadster every bit as
entertaining in the corners as it is when the throttle opens.
The red custom leather interior delivers a knockout contrast
against the black bodywork. Dakota Digital gauges, a billet
steering wheel, tilt column, center console, and finished trunk
give the cockpit a polished, completed feel without losing the raw
character that makes a Speedster special.
Because ASVE identifies an individually assembled vehicle rather
than a mass-produced factory model, rarity here is found in the
build itself. The LS1 drivetrain, custom chassis equipment,
distinctive finish, and carefully selected billet details form a
combination unlikely to be duplicated. This is vintage hot rod
flavor sharpened with modern performance, ready for back-road
blasts, cruise nights, and plenty of open-air miles.
