Survivor Classic Car Services Chicago is proud to present this
clean 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Tribute. Though this Chevelle
originally had a small block 307, a beefy fuel-injected 477 cubic
inch big block V8 now sits nestled between the fenders. Power is
sent rearward though a 3-speed automatic transmission into the
10-bolt rear axle. The axle was rebuilt in 2019 with a 3.55
gearset, Eaton positraction differential, and hardened axles with
longer 1/2" diameter studs. With all that torque on tap, you could
smoke the tires all day long without ever stressing the engine!
The Chevelle was repainted the original Ascot Blue after having the
quarters replaced and the paint looks incredible. Photos don't do
this car justice! The black striped are painted under the clear and
add to the SS styling of the car. The interior is largely
unmodified, though the bench seat has been recovered in full vinyl,
rather than the vinyl/cloth hybrid of the rear seats. The bench has
also had custom brackets fitted to move it rearward about 4" to
taller drivers, though it is easily removed for factory seating
position.
The suspension was completely overhauled front to back. New tie rod
ends, pitman arm & idler arm, and stainless steel brake hoses were
added. A Baer master cylinder and power disc brakes are on all four
corners and bring this Chevelle to a standstill with ease. QA1
tubular control arms are fitted in front and boxed control arms in
the rear. QA1 coilovers have also been fitted front & rear and are
dialed in to give an excellent balance between performance handling
and on-road comfort. This Chevelle is ready to have you jump in and
drive!
