SALE PENDING. A one owner 1978 Stutz Blackhawk VI purchased new by
Willie Mays who retained ownership until he passed away in 2024 at
the age of 93. Only 16,000 miles. It was purchased from his estate
by a friend of ours in 2025. This is the finest example of a Stutz
from this era that I've seen in the past 30 years. It was obviously
a prized possession of its legendary original owner as he never
sold the Stutz even though he stopped driving in 2005 due to
Glaucoma. This beautiful example is as close as it gets to
experiencing what it was like to drive a new Stutz Blackhawk back
in the day when they were a favorite mode of transportation among
some of the biggest celebrities in the world. The list of famous
owners is long and includes Elvis Presley, Lucille Ball, Dean
Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Muhammad Ali, Evel Knievel, Johnny Cash
and many more. Many if not most of these cars have fallen into
disrepair and the cost of a proper restoration would far exceed the
cars value. There's also a number of poorly restored examples that
come up for sale from time to time. What rarely comes up is a
pristine, well cared for, low mile example such as the Willie Mays
Stutz offered here. The color is original to the car, it was
repainted once. It's a life long properly California car with
excellent original chrome and it retains its original Connolly
leather upholstery, lambs wool carpet, Birds Eye Maple wood trim
and faux fur trim lining the trunk compartment. The original owners
manual is signed by Willie Mays. An autographed baseball, color
photo and Willie Mays personalized "SAYHEY8" California license
plate are also included. $119,000. For details call Dave Murray at
