For Sale: 1995 Chevrolet Corvette in Morgantown, Pennsylvania

Vehicle Description

1995 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe

"Forty years ago Chevrolet shook the sports car hierarchy with the introduction of a revolutionary V8 engine in the 1955 Corvette. Its creators couldn't have imagined it at the time, but this lightweight high revving V8 would go on to power more street cars and more race cars than any other engine in automotive history. The already legendary LT1 V8 that powers the 1995 Corvette is a direct descendant of the classic 1955 small block V8" From the 1995 Corvette brochure

For consignment, a 1995 Chevrolet Corvette coupe with a title verified 63,223 actual miles. Owned by our consignor for 21 years, this coupe represents a clean, stock example that has been well maintained.

Exterior
Let's say you want a little red Corvette, but you don't want a fire engine colored rocket screaming down the road. Well, this Dark Red Metallic, more of a maroon, is for you! Not as flashy as Torch Red but just as fast! Out back, it's almost as if the tail lights were meant to color match the paint and wide mouth aftermarket exhaust tips emerge from under the smooth rear valance. The classic wedge shaped sports car is rounded in the back and the C4's lines have been smoothed in the front where the marker lights hug the corners flush to the bumper cover. 17-inch sawblade wheels are on board and wearing ZR rated tires. In profile, the car sweeps back with a dramatically raked windshield and fender vents that look like they were formed by the wind, while sport side mirrors copy the wedge shape and send a pointed front to the wind. Imperfections include chips, scratches, inclusions, curb rash and clear delamination, rock spray, flex cracking, and typical chin spoiler scrapes. Overall, the body and paint are nice.

Interior
Black and gray plastic cover the handsome and efficient door panels with black switches, armrests, and door pulls blending with the central panel, showing a tinge of usage but remaining in nice shape. Gray leather bucket seats provide cocoon like chairs for occupants and present in good condition with some typical wear and on the driver's seat. An airbag centered steering wheel fronts a race inspired instrument cluster that puts gauges fairly close together in arching curves that surround a orange back lit digital screen. The center stack houses an idiot light panel, the push button A/C controls, and an AM/FM/Cassette radio. The center console is an uncrowded place with the shifter and storage bin over low pile gray carpet graces the floor, showing cleanly and finding its way to the back storage area where it shows a touch of use but is fully intact. Above us, a cloth headliner lines the body colored targa top.

Drivetrain
Roll the front clip forward and it reveals the familiar 5.7 liter LT1 V8, rated at 300 horsepower and mated to a ZF 6-speed manual transmission. Power is routed to the rear axle of course, where it finds 3.45 gears and a limited slip differential.

Undercarriage
We find driver quality and clean conditions underneath with the typical metal oxidation caused by the passage of time and use, but it's a solid and dry environment with only a film of oil on the pans. Dual exhaust travels through original equipment mufflers which lead to rectangular exhaust tips on each side of the valance. Power disc brakes are supplied and suspension is a complex race inspired system of forged aluminum control arms, knuckles, control links along with transverse monoleaf springs and a tubular U-joint aluminum driveshaft.

Drive-Ability
"Little red Corvette, baby you're much too fast". Thanks, Prince. But you missed comfortable, capable, and most of all, fun! This example operates as expected leaving no mysteries unsolved. Other than the reverse lights, all functions work just as they should and we roll this maroon gem back to the mall. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

We've said it before, C4's represent the gateway avenue into the performance and specialty car world. Objectively, they will look good in another 30 years from now and still carry the legendary marker of being America's sports car, the Corvette! This is a great example to begin your hobby car journey!
