Sunnyside Chevrolet of Elyria, Ohio in conjunction with Greg's
Sports, Classic, & Muscle is proud to offer for sale this beautiful
1931 Ford Hotrod.
We've seen hundreds of them over the years and looked at nearly as
many that were for sale-we've purchased very few. This is one we
are proud to own; we think it's special. First, we bought it from a
great friend and customer of ours-that's always a great place to
start.
So, why is it special beyond our friend? Let's start with real
Henry Ford steel-nothing against fiberglass rods, nothing against
Brookville steel, but to us, it's just not the same. If we need to
have one, it needs to be real.
The quality of this build is amazing, and the attention to detail
is first class. Let's start with a 1954 Buick 264 Nailhead bored
over to 362 cubic inches. Now let's top that with an Offenhauser
intake topped with six Stromberg 97 carburetors. It's jewelry, and
it performs like crazy. Then let's back that with a T5 five-speed
transmission. Nothing like shifting gears in a hot rod.
This '31 has been channeled and chopped and is riding on a Ford
9-inch rear end. The frame is 4 x 1-inch rectangular tubing using
front and rear Model A crossmembers. The chassis was Z'd 4 inches
in the front and 10 inches in the rear. The attention to detail
continues with Lakester-style headers, lots of chrome, and 15-inch
steelie wheels carrying Diamond Back tires.
This beautiful '31 has a 5-inch channel, a 2-inch chopped
windshield, and a sectioned '32 Ford grille. The builder paid
attention to every detail.
As a multiple magazine-featured car, the nuts and bolts above are
one thing-the viewing is something even beyond that. The
combinations of greens between the body, interior, chassis, and
suspension just work. The rod is stunning.
Please spend some time going through the pictures on this car-they
are a very accurate representation. The underside of this '31 is
finished to a quality we rarely see. The paint is beautiful. The
upgrades are tasteful yet period correct.
Again, we've been offered a lot of hot rods over the years. This
one stands out, and it will at any car show or cruise-in.
Drive it, show it, keep it in a bubble and polish it as a prized
possession-the choice is yours once you make it yours.
We stand behind our thoughts on this car by offering our Travel
Expenses Guarantee. Come see the car, and if we have materially
misrepresented its condition, we will gladly pay half of your
travel expenses up to $500.00. This offer has been in place since
we sold our first classic, and we haven't paid the money yet. We
pride ourselves on having good cars and representing them
properly.
