Description:
This 1971 DeTomaso Pantera was modified by Hall Pantera of
Paramount, California, under prior ownership, including wide-body
steel fenders, deleted bumpers, a vented front hood, a front
spoiler, and a four-point roll cage. The interior was re-trimmed in
black leather and big brakes and custom engine bay components were
added. After being acquired by the current owner in 2015, a 396ci
stroker Ford Cleveland V8 was installed, and it incorporates
aluminum cylinder heads with a roller camshaft, electronic fuel
injection, and a high-rise intake manifold. Front air suspension
was also added along with a polished five-speed ZF manual transaxle
with a modified fifth gear, a CenterForce clutch, an aluminum
radiator, a high-volume water pump, custom low-profile headlights,
and 17? forged aluminum wheels with knockoffs.
Interior:
The bucket seats and door panels were re-trimmed in black leather
by Hall Pantera, and a four-point roll cage was installed along
with multi-point harnesses. The three-spoke MOMO Prototipo steering
wheel frames a Veglia 200-mph speedometer and 8k-rpm tachometer,
and auxiliary gauges for amperage, fuel level, water temperature,
and oil pressure are stationed in the center stack.
Exterior:
Steel wide-body fenders were added during the modification process
by Hall Pantera, and the front and rear bumpers were deleted. A
custom windshield, hood vents, front spoiler, and an early-style
flat decklid were also installed at that time, and the car was
repainted in a Ferrari shade of red and satin black with a silver
stripe accent in March 2026. The polished 17? Aerolarri Le Mans
forged aluminum wheels feature three-eared knockoffs and are
mounted with 225/45 front and 335/35 rear Michelin PS2 Pilot Sport
tires showing production dates from 2022. The custom front air ride
shocks utilize an on-board controller, compressor, and air tank,
while the custom coilovers installed during the Hall modification
are retained out back.
Drivetrain:
The mid-mounted 396ci Cleveland stroker V8 was built with Yates
aluminum cylinder heads with a roller camshaft and features
electronic fuel injection with a 1,000-cfm throttle body controlled
via a FAST fuel management system. Power is sent to the rear wheels
through a polished ZF five-speed manual transaxle with a modified
fifth gear and super-duty Spicer half shafts.
