Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is proud to present this
1968 Chevrolet Impala SS, finished in a sleek black exterior over a
black and gray interior. Combining full-size comfort with
unmistakable Super Sport styling, the Impala SS remains one of
Chevrolet's most iconic muscle-era cruisers, offering bold looks
backed by an extensively built drivetrain.
Under the hood sits a built LS6 big-block V8 paired with a Turbo
400 automatic transmission. According to the consignor, the engine
is capable of producing approximately 800 horsepower under boost
and features LS7 heads with Manley valves, 3/8-inch connecting
rods, flat-top pistons with 11:1 compression, a 4-bolt main block,
a Crane blower camshaft, Crower roller rockers, a 6-71 Weiand
supercharger, and dual Holley 1050 carburetors. The Turbo 400
transmission is equipped with a 2,400-4,800 RPM racing stall
converter. An aluminum radiator with an electric cooling fan helps
keep temperatures in check, while an Optima RedTop battery provides
dependable starting power. Power steering and power brakes round
out the driving experience.
Putting the power to the pavement is a Currie rear differential
with a Detroit Locker spool and an adjustable 4-link rear
suspension. Polished Center Line wheels are wrapped in Mickey
Thompson 31x18.50-15 rear tires and BFGoodrich 215/70R15 front
tires, giving this Impala SS an aggressive stance that matches its
performance capabilities.
Inside, the black and gray interior complements the aggressive
exterior while providing a comfortable cabin for driver and
passengers alike. The spacious interior reflects Chevrolet's
emphasis on combining muscle car performance with full-size
comfort, making this Impala equally at home on long highway drives
or weekend cruises.
The black exterior highlights the Impala's long body lines,
signature SS styling, and chrome trim, creating a commanding
presence from every angle. The combination of its extensive engine
build, upgraded drivetrain, and classic Super Sport styling makes
this Impala a standout at any cruise night or car show.
With its black exterior, black and gray interior, built LS6
big-block V8, 6-71 Weiand supercharger, dual Holley carburetors,
