Unicorn For Sale: 1981 Jeep CJ-5
Engine: 151 CID "Iron Duke", 2.5L
Transmission: 4 speed manual
Original Miles: 91,400
Description: You will not come across another Jeep like this. I no longer have room in the garage so I am regrettably selling my 1981 Jeep CJ-5. As far as I can tell, I am the second private owner. This is a four speed manual transmission and it runs great—in both 2WD and 4WD. I have the service records, including from the previous owner and all organized in a binder. This is a factory hard top and the doors can be easily removed and the windshield can be folded down. Original carpet and seats. This has a sticker and stenciling under the hood indicating that this may have been a government vehicle. The original paint color--on the underside of the hood--is Olive Drab. The previous owner, and myself, avoided making any major modifications to keep it as true to original form as possible.
Modifications and Maintenance: Nearly everything is original with the following exceptions:
*Previous owner had it re-painted, installed new Goodyear Wrangler tires and an XRC spare tire carrier. He also performed routine maintenance (e.g., oil changes, replace hoses, replace muffler).
*Over the past three years, I have installed: Mile Marker locking hubs, windshield, Retrosound Bluetooth sound system with vintage Jeep face, speakers, and a rubber mat in the back to protect the original carpeting.
*Recent maintenance includes oil changes, an alignment, a wheel bearing repack, and the replacement of the battery, belts, gaskets, distributor cap, spark plugs, and heater core.
Other Information: Vehicle has been stored in a garage and covered. Clean Montana title in my name only. Buyer pays all transportation and shipping costs.
My loss could be your gain. Serious inquires only.
