Six minutes and 47.3 seconds. The time was the result of a single flying lap of the N�rburgring Nordschleife by the 911 GT2 RS and Porsche factory driver Lars Kern. Amazingly, this record time from the GT2 RS, "the most powerful street-legal 911 model of all time" upon its introduction, bettered the Porsche 918 Spyder hypercar's 2013 N�rburgring lap record by nearly 10 seconds. Quite an achievement by the evergreen 911, a design that has been sculpted and refined, yet has remained unmistakably a 911 since its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show over 60 years ago. Launched at the 2017 Goodwood Festival of Speed, the 2018 911 GT2 RS represents the apex of the 991.2 generation.

Even after nine years, the facts and figures surrounding the 911 GT2 RS remain staggering. Seven hundred PS, 553 lb-ft of torque, zero to 60 mph in 2.7 seconds, and a top track speed of 211 mph. With such staggering performance channeled through the rear wheels, it's no wonder so many GT2 RS door sills were emblazoned with Widowmaker or Witwenmacher and why allocations for the car were so fiercely prized.

This 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS is a rare example finished in Paint to Sample Gulf Blue. The optional light blue color first appeared on Porsche's color charts in 1972 after two consecutive years of dominance by John Wyer's Gulf Oil-sponsored 917s and 908/3s-as well as a silver screen debut resplendent in Gulf Blue at the hands of Steve McQueen in Le Mans. To say the motorsport-derived color is legendary within Porsche circles is an understatement. Equal parts rare and effortlessly elegant, the hue commanded an additional $12,830 from Exclusive Manufaktur.

The cockpit is equally arresting, trimmed in Black leather with red Deviated Stitching along with Black Alcantara with both materials thoughtfully covering the seat inserts, steering wheel, and headliner. The Illuminated Door Sill Guards, Center Console Trim, door panels, and dashboard all feature optional carbon fiber trim.

Additional factory fitted options include Extended Range Fuel Tank, Front Axle Lift System, Light Design Package, BOSE Surround Sound System, Chrono Package with Preparation for Lap Trigger, LED Headlights in Black with Porsche Dynamic Light System, and Steering Column Casing in Leather.

However, the most significant option is the highly desirable $31,000 Weissach Package. Developed as a comprehensive weight-reduction package that sheds nearly 40 pounds, it equips the GT2 RS with numerous carbon-fiber components, including the roof, anti-roll bars, and end links at both axles. For an additional $13,000, the Witwenmacher could be ordered with forged magnesium wheels reducing overall and unsprung weight by more than 25 pounds. Furthermore, this example is fitted with $63,000 in carbon fiber trim from 9Design.

What many enthusiasts may not realize is just how rare it is to find a U.S.-market GT2 RS specified with the trifecta of Paint to Sample, the Weissach Package, and the lightweight magnesium wheels. Faced with unprecedented demand and production constraints affecting both Paint to Sample requests and the magnesium wheel production, Porsche Cars North America required even its 918 Spyder Circle members and VIP clients to choose between the two. As a result, only a select handful of cars left the factory with all three options-a distinction this example proudly enjoys.

According to its clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report, this 2018 911 GT2 RS was delivered new to Porsche North Houston in September 2018. It was then likely dealer-traded to Porsche Colorado Springs before being sold in March 2020 to its first owner based in California. The report subsequently records two owners between 2020 and 2023 with servicing at Niello Porsche (now Porsche Rocklin) until it was acquired by its third owner in Arizona at approximately 2,500 miles in 2023. The odometer now shows just 2,779 miles at cataloging, making this not only one of the rarest factory configurations, but surely one of the best preserved as well.

Equipped with the Weissach Package, forged magnesium wheels, and an exceptional list of factory options highlighted by its instantly recognizable Paint to Sample Gulf Blue finish, this low-mileage example is poised to command any canyon road or Sunday morning coffee-fueled car show.
