Detailed Gloss-Black Engine Compartment
Collectible Motorcar of Atlanta is proud to present this
extensively upgraded 1955 Chevrolet 210 Custom, a thoughtfully
assembled Tri-Five restomod that combines one of Chevrolet's most
recognizable body designs with modern LS performance, overdrive
drivability, four-wheel disc brakes, power rack-and-pinion
steering, adjustable air suspension, and a fully customized
interior.
This Chevrolet is built around a classic two-door post sedan body
and wears a distinctive custom two-tone finish. Gloss black covers
the hood, front fenders, doors, and lower rear quarters, while a
warm metallic champagne-pewter finish extends across the roof, deck
lid, and upper rear quarters. The original-style stainless side
molding creates a natural transition between the two colors and
emphasizes the car's long, sculpted body lines.
The exterior retains the unmistakable character that makes a 1955
Chevrolet instantly recognizable. The prominent hood ornament,
Chevrolet crest, front-fender scripts, stainless window surrounds,
chrome grille, bumper guards, and large chrome bumpers preserve the
car's classic identity. Dark-tinted side and rear glass contribute
a more contemporary appearance and tie in with the gloss-black
portions of the body.
The lowered stance is established by polished Coys C5 five-spoke
wheels measuring 18x7 inches in front and 20x10 inches in the rear.
The staggered combination is wrapped in Nitto performance tires,
with 245/40ZR18 rubber up front and 275/30R20 tires at the rear.
Red Wilwood calipers and drilled and slotted rotors remain clearly
visible through the polished spokes, adding a purposeful
performance detail without detracting from the Tri-Five body.
Power comes from a new LS3 V8 equipped with a clearly visible BTR
intake manifold, a polished Nick Williams 102mm throttle body, and
an upgraded performance camshaft and lifters. The engine combines
the responsiveness and reliability of modern electronic fuel
injection with the stronger performance character expected from a
cammed LS-powered restomod.
The LS3 is presented inside a gloss-black engine compartment with
matching black valve covers, neatly routed fuel rails, a polished
cold-air intake tube, and a large conical air filter. CVF
accessory-drive hardware is visible at the front of the engine,
while a polished Wilwood master cylinder and power-brake booster
continue the black-and-polished-metal theme along the firewall.
A Griffin four-core aluminum radiator and dual electric cooling
fans help manage engine temperature during traffic, extended
cruising, and warm-weather operation. The fuel-delivery system has
also been upgraded with a Tanks Inc. OEM-style fuel tank, Walbro
400 fuel pump, and Aeromotive filter and regulator, providing the
supply and pressure required by the fuel-injected LS3.
Backing the engine is a new 4L70E four-speed automatic overdrive
transmission. The 4L70E provides strong street performance while
allowing more relaxed engine speed during highway cruising.
Transmission control is handled through a substantial B&M Pro
Bandit street shifter integrated into the custom center
console.
Power is transferred to a narrowed 10-bolt rear end fitted with
Moser axles and a positraction differential. This combination
provides the additional strength and traction needed to support the
LS3 while also creating clearance for the car's wider rear wheel
and tire package.
Long-tube headers feed a full three-inch stainless-steel dual
exhaust system. An X-pipe crossover helps balance exhaust flow
before the system passes through dual MagnaFlow mufflers. The
result is a free-flowing arrangement designed to complement the
performance camshaft and LS3 while maintaining a clean, symmetrical
installation beneath the car.
The suspension and steering have been comprehensively updated.
Ridetech ShockWave air springs are installed at all four corners,
with Ridetech drop spindles and tubular control arms at the front
and a four-link arrangement locating the rear axle. The photographs
also show a rack-and-pinion steering system, providing more precise
response and easier low-speed maneuverability than the Chevrolet's
original steering arrangement.
Ride height is controlled by an Air Lift Performance 3H
air-management system. The digital controller is cleanly
incorporated into the center console and displays the individual
pressure at each corner while providing convenient access to stored
height presets. The height-based 3H system is designed to maintain
a consistent stance rather than relying solely on air pressure.
The air-management hardware is presented as part of the build
rather than simply hidden away. A custom-molded rear compartment
displays the polished cylindrical air tank, dual compressors,
braided lines, and centrally mounted manifold. The symmetrical
installation gives the rear compartment a finished, show-oriented
appearance while keeping the system organized and accessible.
Braking capability has been upgraded to match the drivetrain and
chassis. Wilwood ...for more information please contact the seller.
