The CJ7 Laredo only ran from 1982 through 1986, and 1984 sits right in the heart of that window. Two years later the CJ line was retired entirely and replaced by the Wrangler YJ, which was wider, softer, and more road-friendly in ways that the purist community never fully forgave.
