Offered here is a purpose-built 1968 Plymouth Barracuda drag car
finished in White with an aggressive stance and a serious
performance pedigree. Originally a classic Mopar icon, this
Barracuda has been transformed into a professionally built,
race-inspired machine featuring a rotisserie restoration, high-end
components, and a drivetrain engineered for serious horsepower.
The centerpiece of this build is the potent 451 cubic inch stroker
Big Block engine, producing approximately 600 horsepower at the
crank. Built with a forged crankshaft, forged rods and pistons,
solid roller cam, and roller rockers, this engine was designed for
durability and performance. Feeding the big block is a performance
intake setup with dual carburetors, complemented by a K&N air
filter and a custom exhaust system that delivers the unmistakable
sound of American horsepower.
Power is delivered through a 727 three-speed automatic transmission
equipped with a 3,500 RPM stall converter, allowing this Barracuda
to launch hard and put the power to the ground. Out back sits a
narrowed Ford 9-inch rear end featuring a spool, Strange axles, and
3.80 gears - a proven combination built to handle the demands of
drag racing. Wilwood disc brakes provide confident stopping power,
completing a well-rounded performance package.
The body retains the iconic lines of the first-generation Barracuda
and features a steel body with lightweight fiberglass bumpers.
While the car shows approximately 70,000 miles on the body, it
underwent a complete rotisserie build in 2017, resulting in a
high-quality foundation for its current race-ready
configuration.
Inside, the cabin is purpose-built with black leather bucket seats,
a full roll cage, AutoMeter gauges, a push-button start, and a
B&M performance shifter. Every detail reflects the car's
mission: a focused driver experience built around performance and
control.
Whether you're searching for a unique collector-grade muscle car, a
serious weekend drag strip contender, or a one-of-a-kind Mopar with
a race-bred personality, this 1968 Plymouth Barracuda delivers an
incredible combination of vintage styling, modern performance
components, and 600-horsepower attitude.
