The Ford Mustang SVT Cobra was the high-performance version of the
fourth-generation Mustang developed by the Special Vehicle Team
(SVT). These Cobras featured increased horsepower, SVT-specific
suspension tuning, larger brakes, SVT alloy wheels and subtle
styling upgrades.
Ebony Black Convertible with Tan Leather-
This original '98 Mustang SVT Cobra convertible has been very well
maintained and is an excellent example of the Fox-body classic. The
original Black Ebony clearcoat finish is in very good condition.
Exterior accents include Cobra fascia/emblems, twin hood scoops,
fog lights, rear spoiler and SVT Cobra 17x8" alloy wheels that
mount 45 series performance radials. The 'Sport Seat' interior,
upholstered in tan leather, is in outstanding condition. This
striking Mustang is well equipped with cold A/C, 4-way power
driver's seat, dual front airbags, power windows, tilt wheel,
cruise, power locks and keyless entry. It is fitted with Cobra logo
floor mats and the premium 'Mach 460' sound system that features an
AM/FM/CD/Cassette stereo. The tan convertible top is power assisted
and also in very good condition.
Hand-Built 4.6L Power with 5-Speed Manual-
Mustang SVT Cobra power is provided by an aluminum 4.6-liter, DOHC
V-8 that outputs 305bhp/300 lb/ft. This engine was a totally new
design from Ford (1996) and the ones used in the SVT Cobras were
hand-built on the 'Niche Line. The powerplant is backed by a Borg
Warner T45 5-speed manual transmission. The upgraded SN-95 Cobra
performance platform is fitted with power steering, ABS power
4-wheel disc brakes (13"/11.6" rotors), MacPherson struts/gas
shocks, sway bars and 4-link rear suspension. Exhaust is routed
through a stainless-steel system.
